Are we all germans? lol
Nah, not many germans are/were genius, but a few were very very genious.
For example Albert Einstein, in my opinion the best physican on earth.
You know we had also the biggest dumbasses of the world, I think I don't have to say his name.

But it's not about nationality, it's about how much you're interested in something.
If you really love something you also love learning a lot about it.

Have a nice day

But I dont really care about the signs and whatnot, Im more interested in astrology, that's why Im leaving thread

Astronomy disregards Astrology as a science and for a reason, I personally take the first one. But you are contradicting yourself when saying you're interested in astrology and 'dont care about signs' when astrology is about signs and 'future telling' -_-

*bangs head into table* I was tired and read completely wrong, excuse me for my mix-up

Already forgot about this thread, but there ya go

Astrology = Belief in fairytales and magic
Astronomy = Science

Im an atheist ffs..

Only 2 weeks? I bet there shouldn't be problem even it's 6 months old. Although when approaching a year it becomes problematic. But in which fields are you most interested?
Astronomy in general is quite interesting, but astrophysics is what I'm really interested in.

Do you guys know the formula to calculate how many Alien civilisations live in the Milky Way?
N = N* fp ne fl fi fc fL

If there are aliens out there, why in the hell would you call them here?

Especially if we hope they're anything like us. What's wrong with going out there to find them?

//\\o0//\\

I would think the chance of finding aliens that looked even remotely like us is very rare. If there were intelligent life somewhere else in the universe, it would probably look different than us.

Nice, another fellow Astronomer/Astrophysicist :) And it doesn't hurt to have a new thread, that other was too old.

Astronomy and Astrophysics are used as the same term, though Astrophysics is thought to be the explanation in physics of why things are the way they are or the way they occur. Though astronomy is also based on measures and the laws of physics. Astrophysics is just the advanced astronomy requiring and using advanced maths and calculations, I didn't start that when I was studying Astronomy cause it required to start with the more general stuff and I wasn't into advanced maths.

On behalf of aliens, I don't know why our professor didn't mention the Bob Lazar story that isn't 'just another bogus story'. So with another astronomer, I mean real one, in our national observatory, he didn't refuse the credibility of that story when I told him. Though I fully agreed with him - if anything has been taken secretly on Earth, aliens didn't just crash every time they came to Earth, they were shot down.

Now I want to point out that I'm very sceptical about aliens having been on Earth but Bob Lazar's story is different and I dont think it is just 'the smart scientists invented Element 113 and light metal out of their own materials and metals testing isotopes and such' they must have come across something...

Actually, I was referring to thier culture or temperment, rather than their appearance. Humanity, in general, is fairly agressive. If w ewant something we can't have, we make whoever has it (or access to it) our enemy to justify taking it from us.

Stephen Hawking made a point that the life forms most likely to respond to us won't be peaceful or lovable, but rather warlike and conquering.

Wasn't Bob Lazar the guy that claimed he saw alien bodies and alien ships at Area 51?

What planet/moon that we know of today would you say has the highest chance of supporting life? I would go with Europa.

Ah...
If you live in the United States, does anyone here watch The Universe on the History Channel? It is an amazing show.

Implying every living creature in the universe requires the conditions our planet has.

That's a very good point.
It's even possible that the stones on the Mars are living creatures.
We are just to blind or unevoluted to see it. We should see that in the universe things can be totally different than we have ever seen.
Maybe even our physical laws are somewhere completely different.

The size of the Universe is just so gigantic.
There can be everything.
Maybe will never know.

Maybe there is even more.
More then one Universe.
Let us think more about it.

We live in a house. In our town there are many houses. Our country has many towns. Our planet has many countries. There are many planets in our solar systems. There are many solar systems in our galaxy. In the universe there are millions of galaxies. But what comes after that?
Are there millions of universes, too? And if yes, is there even something bigger?

That is gigantic! We will never know about that.
We are so small in comparison of those sizes.

First chilla the word galaxy is a collection of solar systems but is it a thing or just some word that hold the defenition of all the solar systems it ''includes''.

We can't really imagine a creature that isnt like us, in nearly every movie you see involving aliens they have human expressions for example they most of the time have a head and eyes but there could be creatures that don't have a face or eyes and use some kind of sonar instead(like bats)

Most likely, alien life won't resemble any kind of life on Earth at all.

My name is Bank. >_<

I prefer Cosmology (study about law of universe and physics) than astronomy.

Physicist now believe that there are alien because of the beginning life comes from the probability in Mathematics. In our universe there are infinite of stars and planet so there should be some chance to have the living things outside our earth.

But different planet, different environment will definitely create different looking living things.
