Hi,

Are people putting bots / robots / spam bots on (social) smart phone apps?

If so, how does this get done? Or is it the same way as a making a robot through Java / Python?

So if I come across a robot that's trying to raise funding, did someone use a program to spam, or did they actually make their own robot (e.g. are they just using someone else's code or did they write it on their own and therefore are some kind of programmer?).

Usually they get the programs off hacking networks/websites. Often paid for even, some times via personal contact (they know the people). If it was easy to get such programs everyone would be using them.

The best examples are botnets, were criminals have no effort hiring them for spamming purposes yet nowhere you see them advertised.
