As with most things, I suppose I could piece this together somehow, but I don't even know where to start, exactly. I have been looking at tank models in the model editor, and I figure it requires animated textures, but so far I really haven't been able to "reverse-engineer" this effect.

I would appreciate it if someone could share a few tips to get started.

Is it possible to get this done with gmax and other freeware?
Are there tutorials for this specifically (I at least haven't found any so far) ?
If not, what other tutorials (about animated textures, etc.) would be the most useful for this?

I refined my model after working off the Tinker model.
It has everything you need to make a proper animated track.

Send me a PM if you want to know more.

Thank you! I decided I'm gonna try and... tinker (please don't shoot me) with that model a bit, see what else I can learn on my own, just to make sure I don't ask you anything too stupid!
