Hello,
I'm using 3dsmax 4.2 to make my War3-models. My problem is to make and save different animations (death, walk, attack). I just can make one Animation  . In this version I don't have the "set key" button that is used to make that animations in many tutorials i've seen. It looks like gmax in that corner. Maybe somebody know what I mean and what I have to do ...

Make pictures of the interface you work with in Max 4.2. I'm surprised that it's really that different than 5.

1. I want to save that animation as walk-animation, but I don't know where to do this.
(In the Track view ... making note ... add keys ... and then?)
2. Afterwards I want to make more Animations : death etc. ...

Go to "Graph Editors" --> Dope Sheet.

Make a Note Track under "Objects."

Make a note key at the start and end of your animation, and name them both the same.

Then do the same for your next animations, and they will be kept separate.

there is no Dope Sheet in my Graph-Editor-Menu ... only track view and sequenze view!
But I have imported an excisting Model, and there all animations are in a row. One after another. And all keys are in one Note-track.

I will try it like that.

That's what I meant, yes.

I guess your max just has a note track, rather than accessing it from the dope sheet.
