Old news, this actually happened 3 years ago but what actually happened was never clarified, it was simply stated that several armed insurgents opened fire on the Apache with "RPGs and AK-47s", the Apache thereby retaliated. Reuters photographers were reported to have been killed in the conflict. Recently, the apachecam video was leaked after being demanded by the company (Reuters) when looking to investigate the death of it's photographers.

It's not graphic since the cam is pretty low res at that distance, but it's still depressing, so be warned:

It's not so much the fact that they attacked the civilians (who they presumed to be armed insurgents, an intel mistake.), but the comments and behavior in which they did so. They also attack a civilian van that merely stopped to help the injured.

What do you guys think?

That was some huge intel fuckup, it was also rather obvious that the majority of the crowd were civilians, even if the two journalists would have had weapons, the other 8 civvies did not. Collateral damage eh?

However, I don't want to say that it's entirely the Americans' fault, if the so-called "freedom fighters" would put on a uniform and stop hiding amongst civilians employing guerrilla tactics, things like this wouldn't happen.

Later it turned out that none of the civilians had weapons, the camera of one of the reporters was first mistaken by a AK47 then later it was mistaken to be a RPG, the most disturbing part is the soldiers, talking and laughing like it was a computer game.

Once again we can thank Wikileaks who made it possible to leak this video.
If you want to know more about Wikileaks then i suggest you go to Wikileaks.org where you can find other clasified documents that has been leaked.
The interesting is that CIA wanted to stop wikileaks back in 2008 thanks to this video.

"This document is a classified (SECRET/NOFORN) 32 page U.S. counterintelligence investigation into WikiLeaks. ``The possibility that current employees or moles within DoD or elsewhere in the U.S. government are providing sensitive or classified information to WikiLeaks.org cannot be ruled out''. It concocts a plan to fatally marginalize the organization. Since WikiLeaks uses ``trust as a center of gravity by protecting the anonymity and identity of the insiders, leakers or whistleblowers'', the report recommends ``The identification, exposure, termination of employment, criminal prosecution, legal action against current or former insiders, leakers, or whistleblowers could potentially damage or destroy this center of gravity and deter others considering similar actions from using the WikiLeaks.org Web site''. [As two years have passed since the date of the report, with no WikiLeaks' source exposed, it appears that this plan was ineffective]. As an odd justification for the plan, the report claims that ``Several foreign countries including China, Israel, North Korea, Russia, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe have denounced or blocked access to the WikiLeaks.org website''. The report provides further justification by enumerating embarrassing stories broken by WikiLeaks---U.S. equipment expenditure in Iraq, probable U.S. violations of the Chemical Warfare Convention Treaty in Iraq, the battle over the Iraqi town of Fallujah and human rights violations at Guantanamo Bay. There's some dispute about if the soldiers were actually mistaking the equipment for weapons, or rather just making it up to shoot for whatever reasons. One part which partly supports this is how the pilot (I think it was the pilot) says that "All you need to do is grab a weapon" while looking at the wounded man crawling on the street.
