Ak-47 (ingame textures)

Moderator's Review: it.. could use better wrapping, left and right side of the handle mismatch, there's some bad wrap and holes at the top of the handle, a lot of metal bits are not really seamless-lookin', and the business end of the gun doesn't even have a hole (as texture). there are a few more small holes here and there that too should be fixed, and some parts are seen from one angle but not the other..

Mesh might be detailed and high poly, but the ingame texture really ruins it. :/
It would look better with a custom texture. And maybe because it's made to be "HQ", making it use a custom texture won't really matter.

4/5 for now. Would have been a 3/5 if I didn't like AK-47 that much.

Not really, an AK-47u is just a shorter version of the AK47 with a shorter barrel and smaller size, but It has a stock too. and AK-47 without a stock is just an AK-47 without a Stock XD.

That is incorrect, I did extensive research into how the guns are labeled for a project a while back.

The lowercase u represents, either a shorter stock, or a shorter barrel I don't remember which, an AK-47 without a stock is either an AK-47u or an AKS-47.

I can't remember which it is, gonna google.

Edit: Yes according to wikipedia models designed with folding stocks are AKS-47 variants, so I would think an AK-47 with no stock would also be considered an AKS-47, also considering the AK-74u is a compact AK-74 with a full stock and that the AKS-74u is a compact AK-74 with no stock.

I still look at this as an AKS-47 than a straight AK, idk, just my thoughts.

regardless of its poly count, this attachment has potential, if you make it good enough I may just stuff it into a model of mine with your permission =D

I think better wood can be found all over the place in war craft, Perhaps the library book shelf texture, or the human scaffold construction lumber, as some suggestions.

I think you should Imitate MiniMage's Goblin Flame tank's black circles and squares by adding a pure black square to be the ejection port for the shell casings over top of the metal on the gun around that area, and a black circle on the barrel tip.

so far I rate this a tad bit low 5/10 it needs more work but its getting there.

Im pretty sure all of those stated above can use an AK47 for their purposes

It is not whether or not they can use it, it is whether or not it fit with them thematically. By your logic all models should have all categories.

Back in the day I made this i thought well, if im making a pandarens map or anime or diablo, They would still be able to utilize an Ak47. even lord of the rings, have you seen gandalf with an ak47?

but others are also right in that the keywords should of been ''modern warfare'' and such. for informational accuracy any way.

Ultimately it was due to my frustration in the system because most people had the wrong tags and I couldnt find the things I wanted, its like when celebrities put tape on their nipples and appear on national television I started tagging my models in every way that fit to break the broken system more hoping that we'd soon get a better one.
