This is an alternative timeline I made. It begins in Draenor in the times of Invasion of Draenor. The world differs completely from the modern reality, but the reason of it is only one death. Only one desicion. And the suffering of whole worlds, destruction of races and darkness fall. I was inspired to make this thread because of similar thread Blaze of Glory: Alternative Lore.

  • The Alliance Expedition in Draenor succesfully attacked Black Temple and found out that Book of Medivh was already stolen.
  • Laughing Skull clan offers Alliance to trade the book in return for Northern Draenor.
  • Khadgar desides to split. One part of AE heads to Blade's Edge Mountains and another to Shadowmoon Valley to find Ner'zhul.
  • Blade's Edge is under control of Alliance and Laughing Skull.
  • Ner'zhul tried to open the dimensional gateways. Alliance succeseeds to kill him and stops the opening of gateways.
  • The gateways were half-opened so the world witnessed a great storm: earthquakes, hurricanes, storms, waves. Khadgar fearing that the wolrd might die, and destroy Azeroth as well closes the Dark Portal. Many died.
  • Trolls and goblins quit the Horde and run into the wilderness. Both races are thought to be extinct.
  • Horde starts attacking Alliance bases, pulling them back. Wildhammer Citadel is under siege.
  • Draenei leave Zangarmarsh and join the Alliance. Most of the Horde's forces are defeated. Shattrath is rebuilt.
  • Many clans leave the Horde and return to their shamanistic traditions. They form Orcish Clans, and become neutral though they begin good relations with draenei and Alliance.
  • Hellfire Citadel is under siege. United forces of Honor Hold and other forces of Alliance destroy Hellfire Citadel.
  • Black Temple is under siege by the draenei and Alliance. Black Temple is retaken by the draenei and restored as Temple of Karabor.
  • Arakkoa come from Skethyl Mountains to cleanse Shadomoon Valley and calm volcano Hand of Gul'dan.
  • Combined forces of orcish shamans and human, elven and arakkoa mages cleanse Shadowmoon Valley and Hellfire Peninsula from corruption. Bone Wastes are partially healed.
  • Arakkoa return to Skettis and their veils to resume the preparations for the summoning of Terokk.
  • Honor Hold expandes. Nethergarde Tower is built on the mountain next to the Dark Portal to keep a watch on the Dark Portal.
  • Draenei retake some of their former towns.
  • Deathwing's clutch of eggs in Deathwings Lair hatches. The black dragons without any guidance of other black dragons slowly rise.
  • The Blackwing black dragons in Blade's Edge find out about the newborn black dragons. They come to them and start explaining the greatness of dark powers of Deathwing and that they are born to kill. They also say how foolsih their powers over earth were. The black dragons didnt like what they heared and they defeated the Blackwing who came to make them part of their darkness. Led by Neltharaku, a dragon who called himself in honor of what his father used to be. Soon they mastered their powers over earth and small powers of Nether. They describe their dark color as "night moments before sunrise" which is why they called themselves Sunrise Dragonflight, and Deathwing's Lair was renamed into Sunrise Spire.
  • Sunrise Dragonflight begins the war with Blackwings.
  • Alliance Expedition calles itself Sons of Lothar.
  • Sunrise Dragonflight discovers and allies draenei, Sons of Lothar and Orcish Clans.
  • Orcish Horde sends small forces to inhabit Ruins of Hellfire Citadel. Shadow Council tries to retake Auchindoun.
  • Orcs do their first attempt to open Dimensional Gateways. World is almost destroyed because Draenor was weakened by the first openeing of the portals by Nerzhul. Sons of Lothar and the draenei create outposts to guard Dimensional Gateways.
  • Allerian Stronghold, Honor Hold, Kirin'Var Village and Wildhammer Stronghold are completely finsihed. The few dwarves and gnomes left declare Wildhammer Stronghold their capital. Mages of Dalaran declare Kirin'var their capital, high elves and lordaeronians declare Allerian Stronghold their capital. Humans of Stromgarde and Stormwind declare Honor Hold their capital and the capital of all Sons of Lothar forces.
  • Eye of Dalaran is now kept in Kirin'var, Skull of Gul'dan belongs to one of orcish warchiefs and Book of Medivh is in Honor Hold. Jeweled Scepter of Sargeras' location is unknown.
  • War between Blackwing and Sunrise Dragonflights continues. Draenei, redeemed orcs and Alliance races are given passage into Sunrise Spire.
  • Some humans, orcs, draenei and broken leave to Blade's Edge Mountains and form Wyrmcult to aid Blackwing dragons. Their agents are in all cities of positive forces.
  • Orcs secretly rebuild some parts of Hellfire Citadel and gather their forces there. Orcs strenghten their positions in Draenor. Ner'zhari Stronghold is built on the edge of Blade's Edge Mountains. Horde tries to ally Gronn to defeat Alliance. Strangely all emissaries are killed or enslaved by Blackwing and Wyrmcult.
  • Mok'Nathal remain neutral, but begin rebuilding their relationship with redeemed orcs.
  • Some travellers say about forest trolls who survived the storm and united into one tribe. They are said to be neutral and hide in their village in Zangarmarsh.
  • Giant turtles made home at the southern coast of former Hellfire Peninsula. These seem to be turtles goblins brought from Azeroth and who survived the sea battles, escaping into the sea. However rumors say that those giant turtles escaped from a hidden goblin village on the coast.

Thats exactly the point of the "one death changes worlds" thing. Remaining orcs try to survive, Kalimdor is still unknow. The Scourge was never created, Legion was never summoned. The world is in peace, orcs hide, humans prosper, though kingdoms have arguements as always. Trolls hide, goblins became neutral, gnomes run from Gnomeregan and so on. However new dangers, from beneath the seas and beneath the earth can soon rise. Twilight Hammer clan is in Kalimdor, worshipping the Old Gods and naga are still hiding. Faceless ones are in their prisons and Illidan is still imprisoned. Azeroth is safe from Legion, but unprepared for the threat within.

I like the Wyrmcult, and whatever those Orcs in the Ner'Zhari Stronghold are called. I've never liked Blackwing though, and the only thing that's reeeaally missing are some Faceless Ones... xP

You know, I made a research and understood that there definetly is Old God in Draenor!

Here it is:
I have a theory! According to it, Draenor is Old God infested.
It is inhabited by Old God of Shadow who was imprisoned by the Titans, most likely after the ordering of Draenor. This also explains why are there colossi in the world.

Another thing that proves it are the arakkoa. Where do they get their shadow powers from? There can only be one answer. Also, I suspect that Terokk is actually manifestation of that Old God. We all know that the great first ancient civilization of arakkoa called Apexis has fallen whe their golems-colossi turned on their master. Why did they suddenly turn on them? There is only one such force of corruption. Also, Sethekk are said to serve an unknown master of amazing powers and Dark Conclave was actually summoning that Old God in Shadowmoon Valley before the First War.

One of my last arguments are ogres. If we look at the ogres and gronns from whom they originated we can notice mcuhcalcium and other stone on their skin, which was completely gone in ogres. But the shape and size of ogres show stunning resemblance to colossi otherwise known as Draenor mountain giants. We already know a force in Azeroth that has turned many stone and metal beings in bilogical formes using Curse of Flesh.
The last thing that proves the Old God presence is the fact that Draenor is connected to Azeroth's Emerald Dream and the Elemental Plane. There is even a Firelord in Draenor, who must be the alternative of Ragnaros.
From all those facts you can understand that there is an Old God in Draenor. Old God of Shadow.

And now we have proof! That's pretty cool, I like how the two otherwise (beyond the first war between the orcs and the humans) unrelated planets are now referable in that they both host/ed Old Gods at one time or another. Do we know if this particular god is still on Draenor?

Oh, and he shows up in WoW too. He's very similar to C'Thun, but it could be because Blizzard was lazy. Anywho, you could really do something big with this time-line!
