Hello everyone,

I'm using JNGP editor and I have a problem with cliffs. Indeed I would like to have several kinds of cliffs. I used to see some maps which have 4 different cliffs in their editor. How is it possible ?
Thanks for all.

It's under Extensions -> Edit Tileset

You can add more tilesets then the default world editor with JNGP ;)
Allthough blizzard cliffs are ugly ^.^
You can better use a customized miscdata.txt file to raise slopes to a higher level then the world editor standard and then use doodads like rocks to cover the cliffs up.

Well I know that. It adds some tilesets, but it doesn't add cliffs. I just have 2 kind of cliffs. Anyway i don't want to use blizzard cliffs. I want to use my own, but I need to add them in the editor palette ^^
How do you extent your cliff level ? Is it possible to have higher than 2 ? Thanks anyway

Then go to: UMSWE -> Customize Tile Pathability

There you can check which tiles add a cliff to your terrain pallet.
If you want to use a custom cliff you should import it over the path of one of these tiles and then add that tile to your tileset.

I wasn't talking about cliff level, but more about the maximum height in which you can raise slopes.
It will look way better to create cliffs by raising/lowering terrain and then putting rock doodads inside the "raised" cliff with a roll angle of for example -1.57

I hope this helped you a bit on your way to creating epic terrains ^.^

I select cliffs tileset, but they just appears as tileset palette, not in cliff palette. I don't know what is wrong. Of course, I restart the editor each time.

Hmm it seems that you're right, I made a mistake :S
Hold up let me look it up for you.

EDIT: got to go eat first -,-...
I have done this lots of times before so it shouldn't be that hard for me to figure out. I'll give the answer when I'm done eating.

Ok thanks for helping. I've already seen some maps with this configuration. It couldn't be that hard.

Ok, here is a tutorial on creating custom blizzard cliffs:

http://world-editor-tutorials.thehelper.net/tilesets.php

To add extra cliffs to your terrain pallet you can use WEU, but I don't suggest using it.
I personally find it useless since it has the ability to corrupt maps. If you're going to use it. Save your map regularly! Here is a link to download it:
http://www.wc3c.net/tools/weu/

You can also replace the standard cliffs with the custom cliff you've created. Just make sure that the path is the same as the standard cliff...

Terrainers usually create customized cliffs with Misc.txt (or WEU shown in the tutorial)...
Here is a tutorial on how to do that:

http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/general-mapping-tutorials-278/terraining-tut-forests-7391/

And here is the hive's legendary terrain gallery in which you can see great outcomes of this technique
(Be aware that these terrains are created for the purpose of a screenshot. Not for the purpose of a playable terrain.
Allthough playable terrains can also be made using this same technique.
All that needs to be done is make sure that the terrain won't mess up with the camera angle then.)

I hope this helps ;)
