I'm running an RPG campaign on the FoundryVTT platform, using a 3D module called Canvas. I'd like to know if it's possible to use the models from this site, and if so, whether I need to change the format or make any adjustments for them to work properly
 
you'll definitely need to change the format. wc3 uses a proprietary format for their models (.mdx and .mdl), so those won't work out-of-the-box for other games/tools.

the first step would be to find out what formats FoundryVTT Canvas supports (e.g. .obj, .gltf, .fbx, etc.). Perhaps try to get it working with a custom model you found on the internet using those formats first, just to make sure it is possible to import a custom model.

then you can look into getting a wc3 model into it. the most robust solution is to probably use the neodex plug-in to import a wc3 model into Gmax or 3ds max, and then from there you can use Gmax/3ds max to export it to whatever format you desire:
