Feels as if this is a yearly melee stats gamble.
Seems like the text was translated to English considering the many mistakes.

Some questionable stuff there...
  • Nerubian Towers were the only ones having some good effect against medium armour.
  • Creep/Neutral Sleep no longer targets heroes. Well, I suggest no non-player abilities to target heroes for completion.
  • I don't know if Abolish should be moved on the higher rank troll. The issue would be not to have two autocast abilities on the same unit, rather.
  • I guess that leaves only the Assassins as the only bandits to still have Shadow Meld?
  • "Blood Wizard can now sleep." Poor thing. Anyways, what about revenants and elemental and other units sleeping at night which makes no sense?
  • Polymorph can target heroes. What's the uniqueness of Hex now, then?
  • Healing Wards are quite dangerous if not reachable to destroy. So them costing less mana might be really controversial.
  • Curse and Cripple target mechanical units. I foresee many others.

I'm going to own up to being retarded; how do you even update to the newest patch?

I know I went through this once before and it was a pain in the arse.

Battle.net doesn't auto update it...
I run the game, it stops me with a warning "you need to update to newest patch" and it has a button at the bottom saying "download patch".
I click that and nothing happens beside closing the game.

I google the patch and nothing, from either blizzard sites or others.

I got it working, followed THIS INFO

After deleting program data, the launcher wanted to reinstall the fucking game... which was still totally functional via the world editor
theres a button to locate the game, but that wasn't helpful.
I ended up finding a wc3 launcher .exe in program files, double clicked that, then Battle.net decided the game was all good to go, totally updated and hunky dory. So god knows what the problem was.

I have the game, it's just buggy when updating.
From the first quote, I can tell you are using an older patch of Wc3, which can have trouble auto updating. You need to have the game downloaded from the Battlenet website.
Once you have the Bnet app, it won't ever say "you need to update to newest patch". The "Play" button will be replaced by "update", so you will need to update if you want to play at all.

I've only ever automatically downloaded the game via the battle.net launcher, and it was working fine until the recent patch. That's how I test maps in the editor...
The rig im on is only like 2 months old so I don't see how my version could be faulty when it's very new, and downloaded via Blizzard's default and preferred method?
 
I would really like to see a focus on the bundle size of Warcraft 3, which is now 30 GB even if you don't really use Reforged assets. I think that the extra assets should just be an additional DLC type of download where they are optional if you wish to enable the Reforged assets. those assets could be definitely optional and the new Reforged campaign could also be something that's only enabled if you have the Reforged assets turned on, but this way you don't need 30 freaking gigabytes to install the game.
 
They forgot to put Abomination available at tier 1, knights trainable at town hall and mountain giants spawned at start location.
I think that's because Orcs don't have a Tier3 capital air unit, and so they wanted to get Taurens out before Tier 3 air from other races made then obsolete. But I am just going based on data from when I used to play ladder back in the first decade of the 2000s.

Well, I don't think it has any coherence to put an elite unit at tier 2, since it is not their supposed location (Mountain giants are an exception due to their purely tanking role).
My take is to increase their magic & ranged resistance somewhat, with a magic totem rune upgrade or something.
So they are no longer instantly vaporized by heavy air, but are still unable to counter them.
Furthermore they would counter too harshly ranged units.
Or even make the spirit link increasing the magic resistance of tauren units. Etc.

Spirit link increasing the magic resistance of units sounds really good and it almost makes me think that yeah like something like anti-magic shell that the banshee has which is rarely used in the undead universe could actually be very beneficial for Orcs. i've never felt empowered by spells like curse and anti-magic shell for banshees. In fact I don't think that I've really built them when I used to play undead, and I used to be an undead main.

I never really liked the idea of like subtle balance changes, so I don't think that the problem necessarily is balance. I just think that it has to do with thematic conflicts with certain units. I think it's really cool that Knights now have this new ability ( I still have never tested it because I haven't played ladder in over a decade maybe even over 15 years I don't even know), but in any case one of the coolest updates that was ever done with Warcraft III (besides frozen throne itself) was the update that introduced like all these cool custom heroes like the alchemist and stuff. I really appreciated how that shook things up and I just think that adding some life to the game - adding some different abilities or dramatically changing abilities to make them less boring - would just be really awesome for the game, especially after this many years of neglect.
