Update 2:
*Change again color of egg
*Little more contrasts
*Added something in the bottom of the egg so it will look like it is hold
*Little fix on the background
Update 3:
*Change background color again
*More highlights on the venom secretions in the bottom
Update 4: (I made this update in 1 min ):
*Added contrasts to the venom secretions in the bottom
*Zoom out a bit so you can see better the egg
Update 5:
*Added little green look to egg
*Darker background
i would make bg a bit darker so the contrast between it and the ''Glue'' would be greater. also, it would fit more the dark style that pyramid talked .
the green stuff at the bottom still looks not like holding the egg. except this, it could be approvable. i dont think a dark/poison look is not needed. someone may want a spider as a 'good' hero.
Quite easily if your map is about spiders being killed off by a great evil, you just need to think of the perspective of the scenario, for us if A spider killed a human, then we see them as the 'bad' thing weras to spiders who had lost family memebers to humans they would be the 'good hero'
It looks as its on the egg, but it does not look like slime. remove the shading on the upper parts and make it less on the others so that is looks not like a round, but more like a plain thing.
Atm imo, It the slime looks like little green rocks sitting in a ring with the egg in the middle, I would suggest making strands of it, like if u had bubble gum, made a hole in it then stretched it, so it looks like the slime is stretching as it clings onto the egg, reluctant to let it go.
The only other things I would suggest have Been said by AAS, but maybe not all of what AAS said

And by the way this slime in the bottom of the egg doesn't come from it ^^ it came from the mother spider who placed the slime to hold the egg,so the egg doesn't fall and brake ^^
