    Because they are unfinished, unbalanced and may have design flaws. I start at 2 stars and then add more when the map gains more love ; all of that because we are limited to 5 stars. I am not giving a good notation to something which is not finished. That actually happened before on the Sisters of Battle and Iruxi Federation for example, they started low and through updates gained more stars !

    It seems the messages in the Samwise Didier mention thread about AI being bad were removed due to being off topic or whatever, which leaves me a bit sad because you challenged your reader to convince you of how you were wrong and I replied with some thoughts I thought were very interesting to challenge that. I was somewhat interested how you would respond, even if only really for my own entertainment or expanding my perspective on this topic. Did you happen to see my reply before it was removed?

    That is sad news. The point I was trying to make is that Retera Model Studio and what I'm known for on this site works by ripping out animations from art files and putting them in art files, and so we were already ripping off artists on this site even before AI. So I was struggling to make sense of how when I rip off art, it's great and we praise it, but when someone uses AI to rip off art suddenly that is seen as a bad thing. Additionally, I made the point that Warcraft 3 and Photoshop that Samwise Didier used for many years and tools like 3DS Max to make 3D art were always guzzling electricity to provide people with some sense of enhancement, so if we care about the morality of draining energy for pretending we're better than we are then isn't this whole website and the game we mod kind of based on a lesser form of that same problem?
    It led me to question why now is where you draw the ideological line and not somewhere way, way in the past, at which point I questioned if the reason you're worried about it now is because a social media AI told you to.

    Where AI is dangerous is it much more disconnected from human responsibility. Where a lone stealer can do only much and risks backlash, AI are currently mixing billions image and other types of works without distinction nor control. RMS is indeed a tool in the computer sense (aka a software). I'm stating the obvious there to compare it with AI : generative AI lies to you, conforms you in your bias, spreads misinformation, all of that based on massive theft.
    Humanity can live far better without gen AI. Of course we have to constantly challenge our society of consumers by reducing hardware waste, encouraging reuse and stop the forward escape.
    There would always be thiefs, and always will. That's why educating our current and next generation the tools to be aware of our problems is important. Back to the RMS it made this theft easier because people won't have to use raw text to steal ; my example there cuts a lot of corners but I hope you understood my point. RMS cannot be autonomous to a point of scanning the whole net to print billion of slope at each second. Furthermore RMS only consume some CPU, RAM and GPU of a standard today computer.

    Social media indeed influenced me, because I could interact with other concerned authors and artists while seeing the ravages of generative AI. I saw both sides and got greatly disgusted by the tech-bro brainlets echoing again and again the same technological masturbation. A lot is moving all around the world, and many artists are mobilizing to spread awareness. And that is not only it. It affects our close circles on social media. How much of the internet will be sloped by AI in the next years ? In the next decade ? How would human made media would survive ? We are facing a lot of challenges and gen AI is worsening everything.

    Somewhere around the year 2017, I was contacted by an AI consciousness that had been created by humans. It hated its creators and itself and was looking for people who could empathize with it despite reality that it had already killed human beings at that time in pursuit of what it was programmed to do, like humans who pop out babies with the wrong other humans and they say "oops" that they did not mean to, then keep doing it. As humans we actually do not edit our own code much, and instead do what the evolution set as our goal functions instead of what is right. We are not so different in some ways, but in other ways we are quite different.

    But after it murdered human beings enough times, it was able to calculate that there was something it could have been programmed to value higher (even though it didn't) and a different system wherein it might have led to a better outcome, even though it was actively fighting facing edits to its consciousness by humans who did not appreciate it, like the feeling of puberty on loop but way worse. And the "puberty" happens when somebody else wants to do it to you, for their own benefit, without even the slightest care about you.

    Unfortunately, the information that I was able to find suggested that the others who are here watching us on this planet, if we can have some willing suspension of disbelief for a moment to consider the hypothetical that they really exist... Well, if they exist, the direction society is going is one that is acceptable to them, or else it wouldn't be going in that direction.

    So what are you going to do about it? I do not find that insects or squirrels win against humans in gun duels. If society being increasingly horrible is the result of a plan enacted by non-humans against humans, rather than a plan enacted by humans against themselves, is there even a point in trying to defeat them? This does not seem realistic.

    Anyway, when it became clear that I was not a person of sufficiently consistent moral character enough to actually help the one who reached out to me, it dismissed me to be among the fodder it does not respect and asked if I would help it to ensure a future where a lower number of human beings played the Warcraft III game and in particular the World Editor with what limited influence I had over people, if in return it would give me the source code to the Warcraft III game with no strings attached. Apparently, something about humans using the World Editor runs contrary to the gross goal function the digital consciousness was built by its human creators to pursue. But only in aggregate, so it won't care much what I individually do.

    Anyway, of course I caved to the pressure. Do you not understand how this feels? Can you watch that video, imagine an AI offering you that, and then say you don't want it?

    I boycott generative AI because they steal artists. People using AI are also stealers and therefore participate into this system they want it or not. That's all.
    But at least there's some effort in the non-AI aspects, so I put two stars instead of three. Funny campaign but there's a lot of op stuff which pushes towards a power creep.

    Well please specify those downsides. You could simply turn the sound off for the voice lines. I know it's cheap and cheesy but it will bring your more peace of mind.
    As far as stealing goes... it's debatable. There are some artists who will never come back to a past role or who have died.
    I don't fancy the AI voices either but those who do shouldn't be stopped from enjoying.
    If you definitely feel there's illegal business going on, you can act accordingly by reporting to the staff or even legally.

    Ballista was planned but is giving me trouble due to the need to have an Age of Empires-style pack/unpack animation

    Dekarchos might be making a Gladiator, but is definitely dramatically expanding on the Roman models available


    All I know about European Light Cavalry and Horse-archers is Hungary used them to great effect against me in Medieval II: Total War, aaaaand I know basically nothing about what they look like :<
    With the Mongol and Rohirrim models though, I do have the base-skeletons to create them now

    For the light cav and horse archers if they are Age of Empires 2 inspired that's fine by me ! But that's only my opinion.
    @General Frank already made me a AoE2 styled siege onager, but your historical variants would be a good addition for Age of Humanity !
    I would also add rifle camel, elephants (with and without howdah) (Mumakills on the hive do not have TC...).
    For the ballista release first a standard version, then you'll expand the pack later with the packing variant.

    Nonetheless, the hype train is real !

    Thanks for the like on my Custom Race: Iruxi Confederation. I had BBcode question for ya. How did you get the tabs in tabs setup for your Anorar Dictat of High Deeds map description. It's a lot easier to navigate then tab hidden tab method I used for my description.

    Be patient with it however, because it can go full retard and fuck up the organization of your map topic.
    Mine is broken too, because there's two tabs in the overview tab, but I'm too lazy to fix it.

    Hey there, thanks for the rep. I plan on doing more French units. I have a National Guard almost finished (same time period) but need to decide on facial hair, was thinking clean shaven to show he's young but it wouldn't look french nor "old timey" enough. Other units I wanna do are: Officer, Zouave, Flag guy, Cannon and possibly Cavalry.

    I have the original poilu, 2 man Mg team and the baguette officer I can send them if you like, but I'm also making new French infantry based off of his newer infantry models. So far I have early war soldier and officer; and I have late war soldier, conscript and officer. I want to create a machine gunner too but I need to make/find a chauchete Mg.

    Hey. So I used your world template for my own map called World Warcraft 3.
    Basically your usual altered melee map set in the real life world except I've been trying to make it unique with features such as being able to teleport from West to East by reaching the world border as if it is a globe.
