  • Thanx for the tutorial. But isn´t something like cJass a bit weird ? I mean normal Jass is some kinda dialect of C (++) and then there comes vJass what improves normal. And cJAss is an addon based on vJass, so it´s something like an add on of an add on of a dialect of C.. And i heared cJass should bring jass closer to a programming langaue like C... Jeez is that weird...

    Well and it looks like it supports cJASS...but what is it actually ? Do you know how i could learn cJASS ?

    What do you think, not yet done on the mountains though but not good enough unlike some terrains I saw. T_T
    when saving a map with 1.24 codes will the map still work on lower patches? maybe from 1.20?
    its just going to be a simple map though. by targeting on a point the unit will shoot at that point, but I'm still thinking how I can do this with the assault rifle and the smg since they shoot like hell. what I had in mind is that the player can set how many bullets will come out for every click on the target but of course there is still the delay per shoot. I think on the sniper I'll just make it have a chance to do a headshot, besides on the L4D's stat, sniper does one shot on common infected anywhere they get hit. but I want to the the sniper thing though. I already have a GUI version of the sniper but laggy.. xD
    How about DD & NV's left 4 dead? xD
    can it be adjustable? because I'm not sure about how far the sight should be.
    maybe try 650 r and 1000 l. xD

    EDIT: Do you know how to instantly turn a units facing? Mine slowly turns, I need an instant turn.

    Now one more little question, is there a root ability where I can add decimal values of Armor? ie 1.3 armor?
    There are the Item Armor abilities, but all integers... and I really need them as in decimals...
    I unit has its own light of sight, others won't have a shared visions. ^^
    I only need these to 4 units. I'll try to look how far it should see. and I will be needing a spell that also increases the sight by using the flash light, but then attracts the infected. I'm making it as L4D as possible. xD
    Hmm, I cannot learn vJASS atm, coz I have no pc. And it`s hard to learn without tests ;]
    So I`ve dicided to spend some time for PHP at the moment. And maybe C++ later, but if I`ll have question about JASS, Ill ask ;]

    yes, I think that's the case. been searching for l4d models but I see they only use it for their projects like the one here in hive. So I tried posting on request and made my own skins instead. xD

    About the site - I just meant that many of the models on the site is stolen (not about you stealing), so its against the rules to mention it... And some mods neg rep for it. So it was meant as a warning :wink: And yes using the site is not stealing, as long as the correct creator gets credit (which sometimes is hard to know with that site). Still I have at one occasion used it as well.. So again: Only meant it as an advice.
    btw, if you have time to help me search for more left 4 dead models or skins. I've been searching google for a while still didn't find one.

    The beware of talking about that Russian site (you mentioned it to nerovesper) As many of their models are stolen, and quite a lot of the mods is unfriendly towards it.

    Hmm, Id never say, that anyone of them is a JASSer... I`ve never seen something done by them. Maybe Dr Super Good a little...

    I already downloaded some gun models but thier not that good.
    And I am the one who made the survivors by skinning and they suck really but atleast its not a simple rifle man unlike other l4d maps. LOL! xD

    and yes, I heard that some Jass functions don't work anymore on the new version due to the infected maps, is it?

    let's say I want to do all my actions using methods instead of functions (and then calling them with a function), first: is it any better or any faster?
    second, should I allocate the struct in the method or just directly use this. without allocating?

    on my pc I'm using 1.22 patch "still broken though but I'm using my laptop now which uses 1.20e patch because this is the version mostly used on garena. I'm using newgen editor by the way, that's why I can use the editor without cd. xD

    basically, in vJass, if we have d.bla, if we think about it Jass wise, bla is the variable and d is it's array? ie bla[d]?

    btw, is there a way that when a unit casts a spell at a point he doesn't stop walking? so we can abandon that damage thing and only use one unit to be controlled. Maybe by saving the points every time the unit is ordered to move? but I don't know how to detect the unit when it stops to its destination. xD

    Hmm, I decided to try myself in learning vJASS, but I can`t find any basic tutorial. May you help me?
    no that is not a spell, I want it to work as long as the units receive damage.
    I saved the units in a variable "the ones I gave you" ^^
    there are 4 main units and 4 controller units. The 4 main units will do exactly as the controller units do. but the player will be controlling the controller units while the main units are the main units to do the moving and the one that must survive. I did this so that when the controller units shoot at a target point the main unit's walking movement won't be interrupted so they can shoot zombies while running away from them. LOL! xD

    by the way, L4D2 will be released on november I can't wait for it. Oh and I think I'll need to find someone who can help me with the scary terrain. I'm not very good at it. hehehe xD

    and do you know how to lock a selection, I did it like this:

    it works but do you know an even better way that I missed or maybe in Jass? It has about .20 seconds delay reaction and the player still has the chance to move it's ally(due to fully shared units) in that short time.
    I'm finally starting on my L4D map, I was wondering if you know how to make some kind of spirit link on 2 units but both units received same exact damage.
