I don't know if it helped u, but if u want to color certain parts, u can usually do it by applying the desired color, to the desired opacity, with a desired sized soft brush.
Nope, I think it's fine. I wonder how the borders on the center would turn out. Maybe recolor the leaves on the Night Elf UI to blue. It's looking great though
Dodge and burn tool is a brush that makes target pixels lighter (dodges) or darker (burns)
The Color Replacement Tool allows u to change the color, while maintaining the highlights and shadows of the original image.
The Color Dodge blend mode divides the bottom layer by the inverted top layer. This lightens the bottom layer depending on the value of the top layer: the brighter the top layer, the more its color affects the bottom layer. Blending with white gives white. Blending with black does not change the image. The operation is not invertible due to possible clipping of highlights. (The clipping happens in the same area as for the Linear Dodge.) When top layer contains a homogeneous color, this effect is equivalent to changing the white point to the inverted color. The perceived contrast increases when there is no clipping.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blend_modes)
