Well, getting out of WC3 could be a little bit difficult. Warcraft 3 is a game from 2002, it's textures are not HD, they don't have HDR and light-maps, the models are low-poly, and while most of this does not look "good" compared to the nowadays' graphics, it is actually very "artist-friendly" and easy to create, in other words, perfect for beginners.
now, if i try to texture a mod for skyrim, for example, it might and will look like crap compared to what other artists can do. That's why i'm trying to "progress" trough game graphics and specifically textures, so i can improve my skills.
However, i don't have much motivation to do texturing as of late :/
