yes, it is a lot!
and its a lot different!
like compared that warcraft 3 is like a kids drawing and sc2 a grown up man's drawing with full perspective and such!
especially baking out normal maps will not be much inviting for newcomers, as it means u need to learn a sculpting program like zbruish or mudbox
(sure people will find a way without these, e.g. with such programs like pixplant or such, which generate a normal map from a picture you load into it, but thats not accurate)
but in the end it depends on what u want to create...
i mean, one could just "downgrade" and get back to the sole diffuse (color) map handpainting and import this into sc2 wihtout any advanced maps, but what would the point be then, eh?^^
