Halo : Earth's Story

Map Type :: RPG
By MacSpiffy117 and Lexle.
Release :: Before X-Mas 07' on Wc3 @ USEast.

After the Covenant attack on the Pillar of Autumn and the death of Captain Jacob Keyes (Halo 1), things have changed dramatically. The war has shifted down to Earth (Halo 2) where the battle really heats up and its up to you and your team, The Spartan - III Project Prototypes, to change the fate of the planet. Though it does sound easy, but remember, you're facing THE Covenant army.

Why and How Did We "Players" End Up On Earth?

You were meant to be dropped off at a certain location in the city with your comrades, including WITH the all-so-famous "Master Chief". However, you've been ambushed by Covenants causing you to go off course. I picked this kind of starting point because it's better than having a normal situation where you just land and shoot things.

How many players will there be?

8 Players, with two teams known as Alpha and Bravo. There are two teams because there MIGHT be a deathmatch mode, I'm not quite sure of myself yet...well actually, I'm never sure of myself. :emote_party:

The Skittlez n' Bitz of Halo : Earth

From Cheap Pistols To Awesome Ion Cannons!?

Yes, all the Halo weapons with an awesome bonus of a famous C&C Ion Cannon spell, we know we love that! :emote_clap:

Why Hello There Pvt. Ryan. You've Been Promoted!

We love to kick butt once in awhile and show off our skills right? Well, thats what the integer save/load code is for...saving "RANKS", not "LEVELS" :emote_razz:

Campaign Mode

8 Players, 2 Squads, 1 Team. That should be enough to take on some Covenant's right?

Anyways...

Campaign Mode consists with lots of challenges such as bosses(Obviously, dur), missions, and thinking (Don't ask why). However, the number one thing that tops all of that stuff is TEAMWORK. Why Teamwork you say? Well, if you played Halo 2 Cooperative on Legendary then you would know whata heck I'm talking about on TEAMWORK.

and...

Like many Army like maps such as Clan USMC's all-so-great (in my opinion) NOTD Aftermath, there are parts of the map where you can't do things on your own. In this case, the same rule applies.

but...

Just incase you're wondering and you didn't read the top part of this thread, this isn't a survival/TD/Free for All thing.

Conclusion, For Now

That's about all I can describe on what we have and thought so far. If you have any questions, go ahead and let loose.

Custom models or no?

I've played Halo maps before, and every time I don't see Master Chief, I get a little sadder.

Hehe, I know the feeling. Like, I played Halo :: Recon and Halo Footies/Hang Em' High. No Master Chief mod. :( However, I assure you...you will see Master Chief on here.

Excellent. I, myself, had considered making a few Halo maps, but decided that I need more time to perfect my modeling and mapping skills.

Good luck on this project. :)

Hopefully so.

At any rate, this is derailing the thread! There should be more folk commenting on your level.

um whats pm mean??

That last transmission with Captain Keyes was around a swampy location. Master Chief wanted to find Keyes and get out. The area was very unusual, and the Covenant were merely retreating from something. After entering a complex, Master Chief runs into a lone marine who is very frightened and clearly suffering from a very traumatic situation. He continues through the complex until he reaches a locked door. Upon opening the door, a dead marine falls into his arms. A helmet is on the floor with a large hole through the top. Master Chief removes the video chip and inserts it into his own helmet to shine some light on what is going on.

The video feed is from Pvt. Jenkins, and it shows the squad of marines that were sent inside the same complex Master Chief is currently in. Upon entering the complex, they encounter a squad of dead Elites with their insides burned, of which there is no explanation for. Further within the complex, they come to a locked door, the same door Master Chief entered. Captain Keyes orders the door to be opened, and the interior looks normal. However, while inside, they hear strange noises, and an unknown life form attacks them. The video feed is very shaky, and it is difficult for Master Chief to see what is happening. Suddenly, the video blacks out.

At that moment, Master Chief hears the same noises as the video feed. Bursting out of the walls and ceiling, various forms of unknown organisms begin to attack him. He fights his way out of the complex, and just as he is about to be picked up by the dropship, a floating robotic orb named 343 Guilty Spark requires his help and teleports him out of the vicinity.

343 Guilty Spark is the monitor of this particular Halo. He is a very witty AI and functions in exact proper accordance to the protocol his creators have set upon him. 343 Guilty Spark instructs Master Chief that it is imperative to retrieve something called the Index to activate Halo. The Index is found within the Library, and only someone known as the Reclaimer can retrieve it. He also tells Master Chief about the Flood and how they are a parasitic organism that feasts off of other organisms. Essentially, they are a virus, and only the Halo can stop them. Upon retrieving the Index, 343 Guilty Spark teleports Master Chief back to the Control Room.

343 Guilty Spark and Master Chief arrive at the Control Room to activate Halo using the Index. When Master Chief inserts the Index into the core, Cortana, who has been couped up in that computer system, reveals herself. The entire time Master Chief was helping 343 Guilty Spark, Cortana has been learning the true purpose of Halo. Halo was constructed to prevent the Flood from spreading, however, it does not kill the Flood, but instead its food. Essentially, Halo will kill all life within a 10,000 km radius to prevent the spread of Flood.

Learning this new information, Cortana takes possession of the Index. Master Chief and Cortana’s “betrayal” of 343 Guilty Spark forces him to become an enemy. In order to activate Halo, in accordance to protocol, 343 Guilty Spark will do anything to reclaim the Index. Master Chief and Cortana decide to destroy Halo by detonating the Pillar of Autumn.
Before Master Chief and Cortana can activate the destruct sequence on the Pillar of Autumn, they must retrieve Captain Keyes’ neural implants. They were able to track him to the Truth and Reconciliation where the Flood have overrun the cruiser. The Covenant are in complete disarray, and they are attempting to retake their cruiser so they can vacate the area as soon as possible.

Master Chief and Cortana find Captain Keyes, but he has been infected by the Flood, and has become almost unrecognizable. However, the neural implants were intact, and it was up to Master Chief and Cortana to destroy Halo.

Master Chief and Cortana arrive at the Pillar of Autumn crash site. However, 343 Guilty Spark has also arrived, and just as they try to start the countdown for the detonation of the fusion core reactors, the Monitor stops the detonation. Master Chief decides he will manually detonate the reactors by rupturing the core with an explosive.

It works, and Master Chief and Cortana narrowly escape the destruction of Halo. They successfully stopped the activation of Halo, and the Flood was destroyed at the same time, however, at the cost of everyone’s life.

lots of info on halo =)

As nice as those are, they won't fit entirely well in a Halo map, since Halo has very recognizable and noticeable weapons - the Assault Rifle from the first game, for example, is almost universally recognized. People would notice if MP-5s were in a Halo map instead of M7s.
