Well, I bin inactive from Wc3 modding for awhile. I think this'll be the last map I ever attempt.

Halo. My final goodbye from Wc3. Halo, based on the most awesome sci-fi universe...Halo, will be a strategy map for Warcraft 3. The map will contain elements from LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth, WH40k Dawn of War, and Halo Wars. It will feature custom models and UI and two very unique races.

To achieve victory, you must build an army and eliminate all enemy units, whilst maintaining your own forces.
To build armies, you must capture Command Points. To capture a Command Point, you must order specific units to capture it. If the units are killed before capture of the point, the point will stop being captured and will become capturable to anyone.
Once you have a Command Point, a base will be built on it. Bases will be spawned with 4 building plots, and 1 Headquarters building. On the building plots, you can construct structures (if you've ever played Battle for Middle Earth or Halo Wars, you'll know the system).
Structures give access to units, technology, and resources. The resources are 'Resources', 'Power', and 'Command'. Resource is generated by buildings, Power is gained uniquely for each race, and Command is the same as an Army Cap.
You will start with a base. If you lose all your bases, then you lose the game.

Green = grassland.
Light green = higher grassland/cliff.
Grey = rocks.
Dark green triangles = clump of trees.
Brown = dirt road/path.
Blue = water.
Red dots = Command Points. Ones with black lines on them are starting locations.

Their specialty will also unlock a special infantry unit and a special ability. The SPARTAN will also gain levels like ladder heroes (max level 3). They will gain skill points which can be spent on increasing their stats (Combat, Intellect, Stamina) or upgrading the effectiveness of their special ability.
The Covenant are more advanced. Their strengths are their unit's quantity and variety. Their weakness is their lack of balance, which the UNSC have. The Covenant are open to all sorts of tactics. The Covenant use and gather Power differently. First, they use it as a secondary resource (like lumber in Wc3) rather than a tech level, and second, they generate it by ordering Elites (see below) to pray at Temples. The Covenant do not have a SPARTAN, but they do have EliteS. Yep, unlike UNSC SPARTANs, the Covenant can train multiple Elites. However, Elites do not level up like heroes, and are more like powerful infantry leaders. The player must first chose a specialty (Aggression, Precision, or Infiltration), similar to the SPARTAN's specialties; this will affect the type of Elite the player can train and also a powerful special ability available in Command Citadels.

I'll be excited for this project of yours, hehe, it's nice to see those three games combined into one, finally in Warcraft III:)

UNSC

Units
Marine - basic infantry.
SPARTAN - special unit. Can chose a specialty - Assault, Scout or Recon. The next 3 units below will be available depending on your SPARTAN's specialty
{Flamer - heavy anti-infantry. Assault
{Bullfrog - light sniper/harasser. Has a jetpack. Scout
{ODST - shock trooper. Recon
Mongoose - vehicle scout. Can carry 1 infantry unit, or be upgraded with a mounted marine carrying a rocket launcer.
Warthog - main assault vehicle. Can Ram units, and be upgraded with anti-air rockets.
Scorpion - main artillery.
Elephant - mobile fortress. Can enter Lockdown mode, enabling it to train units and activating its turrets.
Falcon - all-purpose aircraft. Can Fly and Land. In Land mode, the Falcon can pick up, transport, and drop units. Can be upgraded with a vehicle hook to carry a Mongoose or a Warthog.
Shuttle - stealth satellite. Invisible. Has Radar Sweep and can call in 1 Airstrike. Can drop in an ODST, if Recon specialty is chosen.
Buildings
Command Centre - main HQ. Revives your SPARTAN. Trains Falcons and Shuttles.
Barracks - infantry unit production. Trains Marines, Elephants, and whichever unique infantry unit is available depending on your SPARTAN's specialty.
Factory - vehicle production. Trains Mongooses, Warthogs, and Scorpions.
Armoury - research facility. Also increases your Power level by 1.
Reactor - generates Resources. Can be upgraded into an Advanced Reactor to increase generation rate.
Missile Tower - anti-air tower. Has an EMP blast ability.
Bunker - increases Command by 8. Can garrison Marines, who can attack from inside the Bunker.

Why bother posting screenshots or progress if nothing is in there?
Same with introduction.

You should really think before presenting in Map Development.
Just my opinion.

Anyhoo, this project sounds somewhat okay, I'll stay tuned until you make random updates. :3

Units
The next 3 Elites below will be available depending on the specialty you chose. All three can be ordered to pray at temples;
{Commando - Aggression. Has Glorious Frenzy and Plasma Grenade. Unlocks Shield Generator ability.
{Ranger - Precision. Has Activate Jetpack and Concussion Grenade. Unlocks Teleportation ability.
{Spec Ops - Infiltration. Is permanently invisible and wields an Energy Sword. Can turn a Grunt into a Spec Ops Grunt. Unlocks Cloaking Field ability.
Grunt - cannon fodder. Has Charged Bolt. Can be upgraded into a Suicide Grunt.
Jackal - light sniper. Can be upgraded with a Defense Gauntlet, which gives a chance of absorbing damage.
Hunter - anti-vehicle infantry. Has Communal Bond, which can target another Hunter. They will share damage, move faster, and both can be controlled when only one is selected (so if you had 24 hunters, and you used this ability, you could order all of them in one selection).
Drone - flying harasser. Has Needle Super-combine, which causes an attack target to explode if it has been attacked 10 times by any Drone within 5 seconds.
Ghost - main vehicle. Has Boost.
Wraith - artillery. Has Burst Ram, which pushes the Wraith forward, and rams into enemy units caught in the way.
Scarab - uberuberuberuber. Has Focused Beam, which allows its attack to focus at a location for a few seconds, dealing constant damage to units caught in its attack beam.
Engineer - support unit. Has Restore and Cloaking Module.
Banshee - air superiority. Has Blast Cannon.
Seraph - scout/transport. Has Cloaking Disruptor (True Sight) and can Transport units. Attacks air units only.
Buildings
Command Spire - main HQ. Trains Elites and Seraphs. Can be upgared into a Command Citadel, which can activate the special ability unlocked by your specialty choice and also train Scarabs.
Gateway - main production building. Spawns Warp Pads, which allow you to train units (similar to Zerg eggs from Hatcheries in Sc2). Units available for training depend on if you have certain buildings in the base which the Gateway is in. You can train Grunts and Ghosts without any requirements.
Librarium - special infantry building. Allows local Gateways (Gateways in the same base) to train Jackals, Hunters, and Drones.
Manufactorum - vehicles building. Allows local Gateways to train Engineers, Wraiths, and Banshees.
Temple - research facility. Also allows Elites (max 4) to pray at temples, disabling them, but generating Power whilst they pray.
Generator - generates Resources.
Shade Turret - basic defense structure. Attacks land and air units.

There going to be any custom doodads? Would love to see that in your terrain would really bring the Halo feel to this.
 
The terrain will be in a forest, but I will probably add some Forerunner doodads (got a bunch from Fingolfin a while back).
