Main Info

Age of War 2 is the official sequel to Age of War
This map is very similar to those people who have played historical real time strategy games,
in particular the age of empires series.
There are five ages in this map where you can advance through.
You can command a lot different civilizations during this period of time.
Includes 200 food battles, naval warfare and walls and gates.
Over 100 different unit types at your command.
Map has AI and 2 game modes and an in-game alliance system.

Not to be a history buff but the Enlightenment Age didn't end in the 1699 AD it was close to the end of the 18th century maybe alittle into the 19th. i love history ^^ just thought i might point that out if you were trying to have historical accuracy. Instead of the Imperial Age, i think it be better if you said the Industrial Age because that was the next age in our world history. if the map was based off the history correctly i think it could improve the map alittle. if you want your civilization pretty correct based with history PM me and i can help you.

Age of enlightnment occured in 18th century. While you saying the last age should be called industiral age, only 19the century can be counted industrial, in 1700 still not all armies had flintlocks, while in 1850 there was already percussion cap, revolvers getting ground and trains roaming on railroads.

I was thinking of the last age being called industrial because the enlightenment age ended right before it. England would be the first country to be able to industrialize because they started pretty early in the 18th century with agriculture and cottage (also the first to begin). i was just thinking it be kinda better if the map goes along with history, but thats my opinion.

30 minutes wasn't enough to make a good terrain, you should at least give a effort on it.

It was Reaper's request that I be quick so he could begin working on the map. Withhold your scrutiny my friend.

And as for why Oprichniki should be in it... Because they are like the 16th century Stasi... They should be cloaked melee, low dps, early game harass unit.

I know some soldiers German used. The Swiss and Germans used pike, also they mounted on horse with a crossbow these were called Cranequiniers. The Germans used cuirassiers, they served Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian. In Renaissance the Germans used pistoleers, the earliest pistol armed infantry. They also used Reiters which are also armed with a pistol, they look like knights with a pistol. Also they would use lancers. Of course, the Swiss and Germans used the halberd.

Also Russians used Riders in Baroque.

What about Turks. Use Sipahi model as timariot, make janissary if possible. Ghazi are Turkish warriors. Azabs, Qapikulu. There are not much models that can be used for Turks on Hive, but at least Sipahi model.

The English are a great idea, you could use Longbowmen, Billmen, Yeomen or such.

Ottomans are next for the 1.2 update.

Sipahis and Janissaries will be their unique units as well as a melee stealth unit called the Assassin.

Also the British are getting Skirmishers, an anti-ranged infantry ranged infantry unit.

Germans are receiving two new units:
-Pistoleers (Ranged Stealth Infantry)
-Reiters (Ranged Cavalry)

1. The English are the British, Great Britain is on the island of England.

2. Everyone used some form of assassin, just not called an assassin.

3. I'm quite sure Reaper has already given the British Longbowmen.

@Reaper: Russian cavalry, Oprichnik, and Cossacks. And you better have a damn Tsar Cannon, (not the actual Tsar Cannon of course, just a large-bore cannon :p). Btw trees look like mega-shit on Lord's tileset.

I bet riotz didn't even play the map since Russians do have a bombard cannon and I have a new custom tileset in version 1.1.

I haven't played the map because I have no one to play it with, because you have been ignoring my requests for you to get on Hamachi. Whore. :S

You should increase the map size so the islands aren't so damn small. Also fix the grass tiles so that the borders blend.

And change Axeman to Axemen.

Was fun, will require minor improvement to balancing, possibly some awe-factor involving physics.
