These are very nice ideas, but I think you can make the faces more detailed. Right now they are just slight wobble their head. I know you can find a very good solution.

Johnwar! it is good I like it, fits Force of the nature, but you should add eyes to it.
In the map series that he's made for he'll be eyeless, there's a few more units like this and they're meant as automaton elemental types.

If Johnwar is okay with it i'm fine with anyone making an alternate version with eyes though.

Ah yes perhaps you are right, I forgot that it is made for map series, so it makes sense then. I never played it.
first part will be out soon =)

Aldeia already made a version of the icon with eyes for me ( @Aldeia feel free to release that if you want) so if anyone makes a model ver with eyes and wants an icon for it, hit up me or him or look if he's released it.

don't know what that is, so not in the original conception, but if they look something similar then they surely can be in other maps.

Cheers, i didn't play much wow and it was long ago. my stuff is an attempt at a new IP, so not warcraft universe, but i'm sure there's gonna be some overlap here and there. Fantasy is fantasy after all.

Sure. i've got the development thread and website linked in the top post, but really no lore info out there yet. i'm planning on putting more effort into the story telling type stuff by the time i get closer to releasing RPG mode.

Basically my maps will be centered on the same location, an island. i've got several playable game types coming on the same terrain with triggers changing what populates it and what the rules of the game are. All game types using the same unique set of heroes, units and factions (+abils and items ofc).

Like any good fantasy land the place has a history of ancient cataclysm, when gods walked the earth and led armies against each other.
Some of the playable factions will be remnants of those armies but most are theme based around a school of magic or a racial population. Earth/Air/Ice/Conventional army/Mercenary army/Shadow/Demons/Lizardmen, you get it.
Each faction will have 2-4 heroes, covering the primary attribs plus maybe some rangers or int-melee guys here and there.
Factions belong to specific alliances for relevant game modes (Grand strategy, RPG) but are interchangeable in most modes.
The models presented in this thread represent some lower level soldiers for the nature/plants faction, called The Druidic Order.

I've been watching these models since release and they keep growing on me more and more. They're really unique and creepy - being faceless is a nice touch. Great job!

Yeah sorry about that, didn't read the whole description, just peeked the pics. I was having a look at those links and it's cool, it looks like a huge undertaking though. Do you have an idea to spin it out as a stand alone eventually (maybe)?

I only just started making models in the last week or two, so I'm still a nub, but I think I'm getting the hang of everything except making new animations from scratch. Blender is too daunting, but I'm gonna try making my first building soon so I'll play with birth animations in Mdlvis, probably.

Anyway, I made this bird if you're interested and I'm aiming to make more rock/earth oriented stuff soon which might be useful.
I'm using the bird as a 'cave swallow' but tbh I modeled it on a barn swallow >_>

Yeah, but i've been working at it for a while and all the big systems are in place, so the hard work is done, just gotta fill in a bunch of details and tweak the dials for each mode i make. if people end up liking it i will consider that for sure.

The swallow looks cool, good luck on your continued modeling journey. it's something i'd love to learn too if i find the mental space for it. I think all the bird roles in my map are filled at the moment, but if you put it out i'll take a closer look for sure. i've had the luck of working with Johnwar for most of this summer, so the low hanging fruit as far as custom models that Hive couldn't already provide has mostly been picked.
