🏆 Texturing Contest #33 is OPEN! Contestants must re-texture a SD unit model found in-game (Warcraft 3 Classic), recreating the unit into a peaceful NPC version. 🔗Click here to enter!
A model I made for the 22nd modeling contest. It's a mimic - a book that 'wakes up' when someone tries to read or grab it, showing a nice set of razor-sharp teeth, as well as being capable of magic using the inscribed runes within it. Can morph between stationary(book) form and flying(combat) form. Use a morphing ability(e.g Druid of the Claw's "Bear Form") to switch between them.
Best used as bait for adventurers inside dungeons.
Notes:
The model is fairly small, and should be scaled up to 1.5 or so, according to the needs of the map-maker.
Recommended movement type for "combat mode" is "Hover", with 0 height.
The model has been changed since it's contest version(and the screenshot), and now features fewer runes inside(because previously, they got screwed up in-game due to WC3's mip-map system) and a "Morph Alternate" animation(for landing back on the ground).
it's perfect
gonna have it be summoned by the chicken-legs-house mimic alongside grendel's book mimic (his as damagers, yours as healers, chicken legs as boss)
