Wrapping a texture to a sphere

Hey there, some people have made models of item icons and I have no clue how to do that, so if anyone is bored, I'm trying to glue this image to an orb-like geoset. Or if it isn't too much trouble you could probably make it the actual (not entirely spherical) shape. Will definitely rep if you can!!
