I thought of creating a world map(overworld) for my campaign where player basically gets to move his party around to the next mission, much like in the final fantasy games, I was wondering if any other campaigns or maps have done this (creating an overworld map) and if so what are they, also all advice regarding this matter is appreciated.

The final campaign in Wanderers of Sorceria has a hub level, but the only map I know of that has an overworld and dungeons is Frozen Throne's orc campaign.

I remember playing some campaigns that resembled having something of an overworld, one of them being Mordork's quest (Mordork's Quest WOOD) and the other I can't remember...so far I'm trying to develop an overworld of my own

try looking other games to get an overall feel of the various possibilies. Make sure u have an appropriate tilset when u start mapping e.g. snow, thick grass, sand, etc. to make up a realistic looking world, also i would suggest that you look at various geological maps before u get started.

good luck
