What would be the use of this? considering that BNet has diminished and its social features are low.

Indeed, If you where to do this for social collaboration in hiveworkshop,
then why not do it on garena instead? But still, I don't really see the point as we have hiveworkshop to communicate.
Which actually has way more social capabilities then eithor Bnet or garena.

Of course, as a mapmaker, you would want to play your creations or in general with this community. Ideally the platform would be integrated in Hiveworkshop or redirect to services like Garena. I doubt that we will get that.

Garena is faulty and we would at least have to request an own channel.

I suppose you are right about that. It would be nice to have a platform like that integrated.

What if a web developer where to create such a platform....
Do you think Ralle would have time to implement it into hiveworkshop?

A tunnel API and a path to the user's wc3 installation folder can perhaps help creating this platform on hiveworkshop ^.^?
Super Network Tunnel client-server (on a windows server)
There are also network tunnel API's for linux platforms out there. (Like shown beneath)
All an application designer needs to do is tunnel a connection through the 6112 port of wc3 between the client and the server within a web-application interface.
I could take a look at this, but I don't know if I have enough time to realize it on a test server.

EDIT: hmm I suppose it would be cool to create such an interface using this java library:
jsch

or this c library:
libssh

Think of the possibilies: million more beta testers...
Edit:
Also it will be possible to require million more joiners to this forum, since people will want to join and have their map edited also!...

I hope not, that will most definitly overload the server database of the hive. (or at least fill it up with cache data)
Luckilly Ralle makes backups so that when this does happen it can be reverted back to it's original state before going out of memory.

Statistically spoken: what you are wishing for is a disaster. :goblin_boom:

Just how many hivers ARE THERE? 0_0
And another thing, is the server this weak? 0_0

lol, a server is NOT weak when it can not handle millions of users xD
You'd be surprised when looking at the size of such a database. Plus not to mention the hardware specification needed to keep the site running at a desirable speed...
It all depends on how much money you spend in your server and what you use it for ofcourse.

I have no idea about the hive, what server it is hosted on (well I could find out a thing or two ofcourse) or anything about it's hardware specifications. So I couldn't know ;)

Remember that a server can have multiple websites and/or services hosted over the internet. Not only 1 website.
It can be used for hosting anything really...

EDIT: sorry for going off-topic, I just like to talk about servers and whatnot :)
