Once sc2 comes out will it be the main focus on the hive? Or will sc2 discussion strictly be restricted to the sc2 subsection?

This is nothing official, but personally, I was hoping that we'd "condense" the Art and Development forums together. If we take a close look, most of our Art forums don't have enough activity for the easy visualization of the most recent thread to be a plausible refutation.
Alternatively, we could allow Starcraft II-related threads to be posted on the Art forums and create a separate category of forums for the Galaxy Editor, similar to those we have for the World Editor.
I am expecting, at the very least, however, that the Warcraft III Modding category gets a cleanup. The World Editor Help Zone and Triggers & Scripts forums still generate confusion amongst the users. The Warcraft Editing Tools isn't used that much and the Cinematics doesn't have enough activity to be a stand-alone forum; it should be a sub-forum of Map Development.
I only hope that, if we create forums for Starcraft II, we start out better in terms of organization, especially on the map section for this new game, if Ralle decides to create one. The one we currently have has the excuse of having most of its resources imported from wc3sear.ch and auto-approved. With some order, The Hive will be a cleaner website for Starcraft II maps.

Everything's already been put into place as it is, there's Sc2 sections with the whole Sc2 wallpaper and everything - it just needs to be fleshed out more like the Wc3 sections.

Will Sc2 replace Wc3? In my opinion, no. I'm sure the same question was asked when WoW was first released and you can see today the Wc3 community is still going strong.
Reasons why Sc2 won't replace Wc3:
-Some people just prefer Fantasy
-It's cheaper and more accessible
-I hear the Wc3 storyline is better then the Sc2 one
-Dota - as much as we hate to admit it, Dota has done a lot to keep Wc3 alive. It'll take a while for a "good" dota type game to appear in Sc2 and Wc3 is set up much more friendly for games like Dota.

Honestly, I prefer the Wc3 background to the Sc2 one here anyways - easier on the eyes and it's familiar.

And Rui, the Art sections get steady activity and thus can/should remain separate. Anyways, most things that pop up in the Map Development section are never finished (My map will be awesome, therll be like Ninjas in itz, I needz some modellers for ma Ninja map, creditz for helperz :p :) :p :D :p :D :) ). If you sort out the crap, it's around the same amount of activity.

.. erm.. whole different genre?

But then again, more modding space. Also, you can just switch between them..? It isn't like you have to de-install Warcraft to play SC 2.

After all those years I think that will Ralle keep WC3 and Hive!
It will be great if he merge WC3 and SC2 together!
One button can separate WC3 and SC2 part of site!

Look at our current wc3 area (most of the site). Then imagine a similar sc2 area just a click away. That is my plan.

Cool :cute: :thumbs_up: :xxd::xxd::xxd:

I think SC2 will defiantly become the main focus for most people.
On a side note, would it ever be possible to convert wc3 maps, models, icons, etc to the formats used in SC2? (Even if the wc3 stuff would look kinda crappy in comparison?)

I know a lot of people don't like the commercialized aspect of Sc2, and I also heard that Blizzard put something in the user agreement for Sc2 that allows them to take ownership of projects/models/etc. that are of high quality.

Why would you want to do this? Well for 1 the terraining in Sc2 is pretty different - I doubt this would be possible. Second they would look crappy within Sc2, and importing a bunch of Wc3 models into Sc2 just to make a Wc3 map in Sc2 is pointless.

I do believe it is possible to convert things like models and icons though.
