Hi, I'm making a map that has a lot of invisible units with no model and are neutral and non controllable which provide auras to players units when they are around them. One type of these units is a "Forest Unit" which is placed around trees and provides a forest buff to nearby units.

Will placing several hundred of these types of units cause problems for my game? Will this generate unit lag even though these units aren't doing anything and have no model? Thank you for reading my question! Have a good day!

Question: How many player controlled units are in your map at the same time?

Because if player controlled units are far rarer then trees, it might be way more performant to just periodically enumerate all destructables around these units and if there is a destructable of type 'tree' within range of any of these units, add the buff to the unit. If not, remove it.

It's quite literally a t(h)ree-liner. Hehe...
