Why do the avatars have to be in a 100x100 shape aand a kb limit?Before i could just copy the url of a cool pic from the net but now i have to look exactly for a 100x100 version! Its stupid to have that knowing that the site automaticly converted an immage.So why did such a helpful feature get removed?

Probably because the site is making subtle changes for Hive 2.0 and maybe they wanted to get rid of that. Besides if you want an avatar you love so much SO badly, just do what LordDz said.

actually, it was explained to me by a staff member of great authority that their reasoning was simply because pornography NEVER uses those specific measurements.

by limiting our avatars to that size, nobody could ever have a pornographic avatar without making their own.

also they needed to cut space somewhere and they decided the starcraft 2 section was so valuable that they'd keep that instead of letting us have avatars. expect our signatures to be limited to 15 characters and our rep replaced with images of ralle's marshmallows shortly.

Well worse it about signatures! They are small to. I think they can be little bigger.
In past I heard that signatures are not so big to prevent some people of using huge ones with some gif animations which can resize and slows down page reload, something like that.

As for avatars I never heard why they limited exactly to that size, but perhaps as Wazzz said.

What?Since when do we have a porno avatar outbreak?If someone sees they'll just report and the user will get banned but the user can still make his own 100x100 pic and uploaded so i really dont udnerstand...

They could just delete all the dead threads and dead users... we still have our avatars so why remove the converting program,are they that desperate (what like 20mb for a tiny program?) that they remove it? like WTF

About signatures yes but in the old days our avatars were still 100x100

For once i agree with Mechanical Man.

Fact is, 100x100 avatars are, well, really working out. A bigger one would stretch the user part of the posts, leading to an ugly formatting. So basically, that's the reason.

Erm you dont understand,i simply want the immage converter back so i dont have to search for pics that are over 100x100 hive used to have this feature,every pic was converted automaticly to 100x100 but now it doesent...

Mechanical Man explained awesome problem with signatures. Yes, I have seen in sites signature for about 800x500 or such which were animated liek I said already, so they resized page and browser needed little more time to load it. And like mechanical Man said, of course, you can hardly read text because of huge signatures.

Curse the person to ever introduce these useless features into the already bad vB.

When a post in a forum has content of one line, yet takes you a whole screen, you know the site you are browsing needs to go to the garbage.

Even the amount of information showing on my posts is unneeded. A join date? the amount of posts? rep? why on earth is that required.

it's a well known fact that the hive was heavily inspired by wc3sear.ch, it's just hiveworkshop is... legal

and i have heard first hand that archian is doing work for hive 2.0, so ralle is hardly doing it all by himself

The hive was based around Ralle's map, Wc3 search was like how the hive is now, Ralle is working on Hive 2.0, and Wc3search wasn't illegal.

Wc3sear.ch's owner dissapeared, and a moderator transfered a copy to Ralle, such as users and resources, which he merged with the hive.

Archian is the artistic designer and Ralle is the coder. Hakeem asked to participate on the coding too, but I believe it didn't go further than the request. Which is a pity, given how Hakeem has been speaking of "modularity" a lot and flexibility is the top of my proposals for Hive 2.

Avatars? They've been like that for as far as I can remember. I actually agree that sometimes the post stretches far too much down only because of profile information. I'll see to it that Ralle allows you to toggle that off (again, not remove completely due to each one's preferences).

i recommend buying photoshop so you can edit images to fit the size of your avatar

it will cost some money, but if you get photoshop you can put women in your avatar and make it look like they were WITH you
