Well, here's how it is:

I just downloaded some icons for my map, at first i could see all of them appear, so I was satisfied. But after a few times of saving my map, suddenly when I clicked on that icon, nothing came out, same for a few others too, but some were still visible. Could somebody help me out please?

I think he means the icons aren't appearing in the WE, if this is your problem, it kind of just happens randomly, and often also when you first import the icons.. if it doesn't go away after a while then just restart your WE and you will be able to see the icons.

It DOES happens to me sometimes, when I checked back the Import Manager, all my imported files are 0kb (OMG!), but I think restarting the WE will fix it. If not, try re-import the icons

Erm, I hope I'm not bothering anyone, but could somebody please tell me the specific steps of importing models and icons into a map, including the step of downloading the icon/model as well as adding it to a unit? Thank you so much . . .

PS: Please show the model and icon importing steps separately, because I heard that both aren't exactly the same...

I always do it this way:

1. You download the model
2. Put it in any path (usually i create a new folder "Custom icons")
3. WE on
4. Import manager -->Import file
5. BTN or PAS goes to ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\*(your file.blp)*
6. DISBTN,DISPAS(DISATC,etc)goes to ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtonsDisabled\*(your disabled icon.blp)*
7. Save your map
8. Go to spell, unit, etc (where you want to put it)
9. Import path (the icon is shown in the left)
10. Choose, save GL&HF

  • Icon importing
    • Events:
      • Player - Given tutorial doesn't work
    • Conditions:
      • It still does not work
    • Actions:
      • If (All Conditions) are True then (Do actions) else (Do Actions):
        • If - Conditions:
          • This STILL Doesn't Work
        • Then - Actions:
          • Player - Make triggering player Delete icon, delete icon DIS, redo the things 1-10
        • Else - Actions:
          • Player - Make Triggering Player Suicide
This doesn't mean i'm showing off my "Skillz" in triggering, it's just for fun :)

*The () is for explanation, don't use it.

Hope it'll help (it does to me ;p)

and actually you can do with the war3imported\ .. (was that the path name?) of the imported BTN and PAS icons. you don't need to change it to ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\.. just additional info on what Tiche3 said. :p

Huh, what? O.o i didn't know that (please explain how to make it work with the war3imported/*(your icon.blp)*)

*() is once again unneeded

isn't it that when you import things, the default path becomes war3mapImported\*imported thing*. when you import icons, you can leave the paths for BTN and PAS as such, making no changes, (war3mapImported\BTNicon.blp, war3mapImported\PASicon.blp), it will still show in-game and in-editor. but just make sure to change the paths for DISBTN and DISPAS. or else it will turn green in-game :D

Oh, actually it's easier for me to write even for BTN and PAS, do as you like most :)
