Honestly, it totaly depends on you. Peps give rep for helping them out, solving troublesome issues, also if they're enjoying work of others (resources used by you, although not made actually by you); to folks who spend time writing feedback. Next: just to spread it and be able to give the same guy again. Not unusuall is giving it just for fun, for elaborating given subject, posting honest opinion, making people laugh, showing emotions.

And of course, you give reps to mods for just showing up ; )

mhm, would make sense. But as he said it's all about how you choose to act there are no rules for adding rep.

Give it to those who help you in some way, not rep people out in the open.

This is what i can say maybe if someone help you on your map creating giving tips etc and give you wonderful comments.

And that's depends on you if you are giving reps but the important part you need a good reason why you give that user a rep.
