Once he acquired Frostmourne and returned back to his homeland, he killed his father (the King) and rained hell on his own land.

After that it all went downhill I'd say.

Nah, that is Reign of Chaos. Lordaeron is done for after the undead chapters all Human powers are gone (King dead, Pala order dead, Mage King dead, Elf King dead).
