What are HITS?

Heya, in the map section there is a line just underneath suggested players (i think) it says HITS: *number*

what does that mean?.

No, number of downloads is specified next to the file. (xxx downloads) Hits are how many times did someone click your map, view count to be precise. Dusk I thought you knew everything

But the word "Hit" is used on the internet often, to show the amount of "Hits", click on some hyperlink. Anyway it doesn't really matter.
