WEU Variables problem

I'm making a map in WEU right now, and for some reason, it won't let me use any unit variables(they don't show up; it says no variables of this type defined even though they are) and player variables (it doesn't even give me an edit variables button). I really need to use them for my map. Any ideas??

WEU = buggy and problem filled.
Just stick to normal WE

Also make sure you have used the fix for the lattest patch since WEU gives problems without it or has a newer version been made?
