Weird Bugs in World Editor (Version 1.26)

I have used World Editor (pre-Reforged ones). for many times because I wanted to edit some melee maps for just fun gameplay. Recently I deleted my 1.29 installation files and downloaded an older version of WC3 1.26. The game worked fine, as did the World Editor. When I open my edited melee map with 1.26, it gives me a small warning, telling me that my map was saved with higher patch (since I edited some melee maps to be working on 1.29). I simply ignored that message and the map loads without problem (since I don't have a lot of custom unit data, triggers, among the others; everything is still in default). The only issue is that in my edited melee map I opened, neutral creeps and buildings (like Mercenary Camp, Tavern, etc.) for some reason have wrong colors. If I'm not mistaken, creeps (neutral hostile) are supposed to be black, while Mercenary Camps and Taverns have randomized colors depending on the map's tilesets (it could be blue or red), but in my case those appear to have the same wrong color. In some cases, certain creeps also have weird visual glitches like the Wizard ones (see 3rd picture) when this bug exists. However, you can still solve this kind of bug if you change the player's allegiance for creeps to "Neutral Hostile" and the neutral buildings to "Neutral Passive" (which sounds weird because if I want to open the properties for certain unit, the "Player" field is empty). Is this one of the bug in the World Editor? I wanted to test out my own melee maps made with 1.29 on older versions like 1.26. Maybe in the future, I'll do the same thing for 1.31+.

Great answer.

Obviously, the bug occurs because my melee map saved with 1.29 updated its compatibility to support 24 players.
As such, the neutral hostile units and neutral passive buildings are classified as "Player 25" and "Player 28" respectively, which are non-existant in the older patches (like 1.26). But I solved that bug by manually adjusting their player field.

So to counter some unwanted changes, I have thought of a solution: Use the higher patches of Warcraft III with 24 players like 1.31 as example (or even the latest patch, which is 2.0.3), then save my existing melee map (1.26) with 1.31 or 2.0.3. Does that help?

I'm very concerned about saving my older maps with 1.31's WE because it can make them unplayable on older patches. Same thing goes to 2.0.3 (you know, it's the latest Reforged build). But I was able to open my melee map saved with 1.29 using older WE without issues.
