Alright, So theres been some dersion during the night elf techtree. We've decieded to remove the Hippogryph for a few reasons, and we have two options for replacing them. we want a mountable flying unit. One is the owl. A basic flying unit. This owl will have to be much larger than a normal owl... and would be a melee unit... And the second option is the faerie dragon, A light scout and antispellcaster, about the same size as the old hyppogryph. SO:

1. An owl.
Basic melee flying unit.

2. A Faerie Dragon, Advanced antispellcaster.

I personally prefer the Faerie Dragon for a number of reasons, 1. its a kickass unit, 2. its the perfect size, already fits into lore... and is a cute and tactically exploitable unit.

like i said, Upgrades would be nice,

You can create the giant owls and the fearies from a building
if u create an archer, u can Mount the Giant owl with no upgrades but if u want to also be able to mount Fearies, u need to upgrade the Mouting Skills of the Archers.

As for now, (since u said me to keep this for later ) i vote for Giant Owl.

hmm, the Faerie Dragon does not make sense of being and archer mount, maybe it can be a caster mount. The owl is the closest thing in WC3, and its big enough to carry an archer, so owls FTW!

And kola, the faerie dragon already has a model, and we arent using wc3 models in war 4... its sc2... lol...

its a bit normal. the way u introduce the 2 unit is so influencing. lol

I think Owl could have better range of sigh, would be faster, Ranged units. <== when they are mouted

and Faery dragons would be : Magic attack (Enchanted arrows), Ranged units (of course), and another ability.

If you think about it, a mounted spellcaster with high damage starts getting a bit rigged and we don't need another flying Spellcaster, we have Faeries and Crows

Why no Hyppo? If an Owl is going to be the same thing, why not just use the one that already has Lore.

And if you think about it, the sound for Hyppo is already there, along with Rider sounds.


I vote for none of the above, need moar Hyppos

We are worknig on that.

There are no hyppos, there are is just Faerie dragons.

on balancing, the naturaly weakness of the two units and general nerfs should keep it a balanced but useful units.

Can't you have both Faerie dragons and Owls then!? I mean the race should atleast have 2-3 flying units.

And we will have them, but again, the owl seems to be a worthless unit. just as the hippo was.

It raped air units, and with Rider was a good ground attack unit

Not that effect as anyti ground, and i would get raped if the riders remained on.

Also, it was a fairly good pure anti-air agreed, but otherwise it wasnt that useful. and we are going to have other units to fill the role of anti-air.

I advise looking at WoW and seeing what mounts the NE use.

Also as WC4 will probably be set 1000s of years after WoW, you might wish to invent new creatures like maybe a flying plant like animal.

Wc4 will be shortly after the end of the frozen throne, and does not take any wow lore into consideration.

faerie dragons are NOTHING near the size of hyppos in lore, wc3 graphics only makes it look that way. in wow lore a faerie dragon is no bigger than a dragon whelp

WC4 will be after WoW, it makes no sense for blizzard to do otherwise and falls into their patern of WC1, WC2 then WC3 etc where the time is always advancing.

As WoW has messed up the world so much, they will need to fast foward a few thousand years inorder to give room and foundations for a WoW sequal.

Consider changing the name from WC4 to Warcraft: name your story here so as not to allow people to seriously laugh at your map when WC4 comes.

Takakenji, maybe in wow not, but in wc3 and thus in wc4 its fine.

DSG, WE ARE IGNORING WOW. thanks for the CC concerning name but our title is Wc4: Sc2. so i hope that will dispell problems.
