The Rulebook also has lots and lots of fluff/lore. The necron used as target practice is part of official lore.

The Inquisitor movie was a movie made LOOOOONG ago with the approval of Games Workshop. Yeah it sucks.

The German FAN MOVIE is called Damnatus. Games Workshop pretty much told them to stop making it as they weren't all that happy with it.

Anyways, A Warhammer movie (40,000 or Fantasy) would be great. However the way it would be made is problematic. Of course since it's a movie it should be marketed to a wider audience so no mega complex storyline that needs lots of knowledge of the Warhammer universe. Of course LOTR did manage this so I'm not saying that it is impossible.
The company which made the DOW 2 Cinematic Trailer did give us some hints about a possible Warhammer 40,000 movie from them thought, althought they could have also been just teasing or giving us empty hints.

Well, if anything, they can make a small intro that tells the story of the imperioum.
Just say all familiar: "Imperioum stretches across the stars...". after he tell that they say: "... but now it faces a new treat..." Say what that treat was. Then he can Just jump to some conversation between some 2 hi ranked officers (inquisitors, or generals or what ever), and then movie goes on.

But, thats last thing they should do :p
Only if they have no ideas. And if the CAN make the movie.

The whole new threat wouldn't really work because the Imperium had pretty much confronted all of the races during the Great Crusade, with the exceptions of Tau (who are not even a threat) and the Tyranids, but if the movie was about the Tyranids it would pretty much HAVE to be about Hive Fleet Behemoth.

Because Hive Fleet Behemoth was the first encountered and alongside it was no other Hive Fleet. The Hive Fleets come one at a time.

First came Behemoth as a large, single force of Tyranids. Behemoth was the largest gathering of Tyranids in a sinle army, but in terms of total numbers Leviathan is bigger. Then came Kraken, after Behemoth had been defeated. Kraken came in smaller armies, "Splinter Fleets". After most of Kraken were destroyed came Leviathan which is the biggest Hive Fleet up to date. Leviathan is also split to many Splinter Fleets.

Ok. Depends on how we look at the the first Hive Fleet the Imperium encountered was Hive Fleet Colossus. However Hive Fleet Colossus were not exactly Tyranids, rather they were specially engineered Ambassador race for the Tyranids. They had their own free will and they were completely sentient. However they still served the Hive Mind. The Zoats even made contact with the Imperium and asked them for peace, saying that they were escaping from their former masters. The Imperium allowed them to be remain in Imperial space unharmed.

Then the Zoat just slowly started to have small battles with the Imperium, until it spun into full blown war in which the Zoat were completely wiped out. After this came Hive Fleet Behemoth which was the first true Tyranid Hive Fleet.

More info on the Zoast:
Zoats were also the first and only case of Tyranids using actual mechanical technology, rather than just they bio technology. The Zoats are no longer used by the Tyranids, atleast as not part of the more aggressive forces that are the current Tyranid Hive Fleets (Behemoth, Kraken, Leviathan, etc). Many theories exist for the absence of the Zoats, like the Hive Mind no longer finding them useful and also thinking of their free will as a problem, so the Hive Mind tried to wipe them out and Hive Fleet Colossus were the remains of the Zoat who managed to escape.
However in my opinnion it's more likely that the Zoats are simply used as scouts, who are sent before the Hive Fleet or the Vanguard Ships to scout out galaxies and also make contact with the races there. They are not used as a fighting force thought.

Anyways, how couldn't the Zoats contact the Imperium? They had free will and if I remember correct, they communicated telepathically.

By "new treat" I meant new hive fleet, or some new Chaos invasion with some super demon or somth. I will leave it ti GW and movie makers to decide.
^Was on previous discussion.

So Tyranids are from another Galaxy o_O

Yes, Tyranids are from another galaxy. Anyways the threath wouldn't exactly be new since the Imperium would be prepared for it. They pretty much know how to deal with Daemons and Chaos, and in the case of Tyranids they just have nosense plot devices. Besides, a new Hive Fleet would mean that Leviathan was completely annihilated, which is something that anything except GW official lore (Rule books and Codices) has no right to do. Games can't do it, Black Library Books can't do it and movie sure as hell are not allowed to do it.

Chaos also can't really mass themselves to be a considerable threath to the Imperium, atleast not in a movie? Why? read the part about the Hive Fleet in this post.

Most people do know that Tyranid are from another Galaxy considering that that's like the first thing said about them in almost every information bit about them.

And the problem with a new race would be that there ain't much that could pose a threath anymore to the Imperium, atleast not something that comes completely out of the blue.

Thats my point. Maybe another race from far far away. Maybe another religious race, that conquered its whole galaxy and now comes to take care of this one :p

I'm going to have to say: NO! I just dislike the idea, and the biggest reason for me saying now is simply this: it would be too much pain for Table-top. Games Workshop is already having trouble keeping the current races updated (see: Dark Eldar) and another race would mess this up even more.

Besides, the Imperium has sent satellites and ships beyond the borders of known space, and thus far they've only found Orks in every direction.

Orks are born from fungus. When an Ork dies his body spawns fungus which turns into more Orks. The bigger the Ork, the more fungus and more Orks.

Yes they can, if the fungus is burned or otherwise destroyed before it turns into more Orks. However this is extremely hard, considering all the infighting amongst Orks too (which spawns more Orks).

I can never focus on buying one type of unit or another... For every squad of blood-thirsty chaotically glorious squad of daemonic chaos space marines, I must have an equally blood-thirsty and chaotically glorious daemonically-powered chaos defiler. This of course is speaking of and about DoW1, until they introduce chaos into DoW2, to me, only one army works for me, Chaos.
