Hello everybody, I'm currently working on a basic capture the flag game as my first project. Its going to be kept simple as it is, but may be updated to become better, and AWESOMER! But thats probably a long time ahead.

Anyways back to the point, the map I'm making is called War of the Flags featuring a summertime resort island floating somewhere in Icecrown Glacier with the two sides: The Kingdom of Azlock and the Flagspear Tribe. Pick from unique heroes which I will ramble a little about further down.

NOTE: Currently kind of inactive

NOTE: This is still in development I want to keep it as simple as possible for this is my first map and I want it done quickly AND then add more stuff like the planned Hell (might change to frozen world) Training Arena and better spells and more heroes. But things here will most likely stay the same.

The heroes.

The berserker is a super powerhouse hero who was made for destroying other heroes and potentially capturing the flag as well, but that job is more suited to the ninja. The berserker was made to have alot of strength, but terrible intelligence and agility, this describes him as a killer.

Abilities:
Hammerbolt - Basically Storm Bolt
Berserk - The Berserker goes berserk and kills easily with the increased attack rate but dies easily with the increased damage intake.
Hand of Lightning - Forked Lightning

The ninja is probably the most important hero in the game. Every team MUST have a ninja. They are fast, well suited for capturing the flag, not to mention having some very useful abilities in the game, though this is for self only. They also have the famed invisibility ability, but since there are some detectors, and smart teams also build them, the invisibility is mainly used for backdooring tactics.

Abilities:
Unseen - Wind Walk, very useful
Shadow Clones - Mirror Images that do damage
Evasion - This gets annoying at high levels

The captain is required for being a tank but other than that has no use for his abilities are only for self and are not that useful other than taunt. His HP will be horrific when level capped though.

Abilities:
Shield Upgrades - Defense boosts
Taunt - Self-explanatory
Knockback - 50% knockback

The beast caller is awesome for team games when everybody is just level-capped, and then the beast caller just calls an army of various summons and rips apart everyone, including the captain. Just awesome for full-house

Abilities:
Call of the Wild Ones - Holy crap an army of various creeps!
Summon The Air-dwellers - Summons a fleet of eagles
Wolf Whistle (Not the sexy one) - Summons a loyal wolf

The priest is a meh, and only for full houses. Then the priest will basically make the lethal team of beastcaller, ninja, and berserker 2 times as fearsome with heal AND an assortment of buffs

Abilities:
Heal - Basic priest skill. Very useful.
Inner Fire - Just as useful as heal.
Blessings - Holy bloodlust :3

And there is all the heroes!

Well there are all the heroes, there may be more in future versions.

Now for the features, which some you might like :3

Frozen World. Yes you heard me. When you die you will become a spirit who is faced with two life deciding options: help your friends as a spirit or become a hero and fight on the ground again.

A basic pro and con list:

Heroes:
PROS:
Can fight again with revived hero.
Can kill more units again!
CONS:
Cannot detect invisible units or buy from the shade shop.

Spirits:
PROS:
Can help team with awesome auras and a pinch of spells.
CONS:
Cannot be a hero or even fight for that matter.

Yeah thats frozen chamber!

I was also thinking of a frozen chamber training arena available to heroes.

Hope you enjoyed! The alpha v0.01 might come out soon, I'll need beta testers!

Heroes: 60?%
Terraining: 90% if not done
Brainstorming: DONE
Triggering: 70%
Items: 15

Finally the screenies are here! What took you so long milc?!

WotFScreenie.jpg

I think it should be wordier.

WotFOpening.jpg

The tavern which is being blocked by the pesky dialog choosing how many flags for win.

WotFZerker.jpg

This is a base. Nuff said!

WotFSpellPedestals.jpg

This is where you can cast spells to aid your friends

WotFFrozenWorld.jpg

Yeah I know, AWESOME (or not)

Rejoyce for the screenies! I know you wanted them ;D

Ok heres my opinion:

1. First, the terrain shouldn't be a summertime resort. Maybe a floating mysterious island on top of Icecrown Glacier or maybe a placed which the Lich King hid from the Night Elves or something else.

2. There are too few heroes! Make more spells which are custom spells via triggers which you could learn in the tutorials here. Then remove those stuff like sneaky little rat and the other stuff like that.

3. Change hell to something like Spirit World or Frozen Chamber or maybe Flagspear Spirit Hall for the Flagspears then City of Paradise for the Kingdom of Azlock.

4. Better if you add a story in the map.

1)If I take a look at the minimap of the screenshots the used part of the terrain look very small, don't leave a big empty map it's useless.

2) Every hero only have 3 spell, for my opinion a minimum of 4 is needed for a map, and a big part of these spell are just Warcraft classic spell renamed. Take a look at Spell section of Hiveworkshop, you can find a lot of well made spell or good idea.

3) A capture the flag map look easy to create but it's hard, I've see a lot of crappy CtF, so take time for make it. If you have problem with something Search on Hive and if you don't find what you want you can always ask others, if your question is clear you have a lot of change to have someone who will answer fast.

Good luck for you project.

1) I was saving the space for future updates.

2) My plan was to just get a simple CtF game and then later update it to more complicated stuff while Im learning more about the World Editor. And besides, I don't want to overwhelm myself with an overload of data, this is my first map, but then again, I'll consistently update it until I'm drained of ideas.

3) Same as 2 but I'll keep the search and ctf quality in mind ^^.

Did you know that you can change the size of the map during the development, not only when creating. Having a so big amount of useless space look like a very bad quality map, I know it's your first map but little thing like this are very important and can ruin a map if the creator think they aren't.

@Milc

You need to get the terrain figured out. You say it's a summertime resort but it looks like a city. To make it look like a summertime resort give it palm trees and sand and water.

Hell needs to be red dude, or you need to explain why it's blue. Just as Dante (word out to my italians) says Hell is frozen at the bottom to mirror the sins of the damned, your Hell needs to have a valid reason to be icy (WTF?) and blue (WTF?) and shooting lightning (TOTAL WTF?)

I meant the lightning to be icy stuff...there's not too many blue stuff in the game. Oh and cold can be suffering as well :) the arctic comes to mind.

We know that there isn't a lot of icy stuff in Warcraft 3. That's why we have the models and skins sections . . .

And Blindman is right, you still should rename it to something besides hell. No offense, but it just seems wrong, and moreover stupid to put it into the map. Having a dead souls area could be cool, but make it make sense.
