Waits...

    So its a known thing that waits are bad,



    Therefore players are advised to use timers or periodic time

    So why hasn't blizzard released a patch to fix waits yet?

    That really depends on what you're using the Waits for.

    True, but still every wait takes an additional.10 - .20 seconds.

    Also waits still countdown even when "waiting for players" which I guess there could be some instances where that could be useful.

    My opinion is:
    1- Multiplayer delay(problem that wait takes longer time in multiplayer) can not be fixed because waits need to synchronized.
    2- Continuing countdown on "waiting for players" can be a bug or feature I guess.
    3- I believe its single player performance can be improved, and I really don't know why it could not run faster(eg 0.01 seconds) in single player.

    I suppose a timer is already synchronized by nature. A timer object is created on each player's game, each player runs same game and timer increases with each game tick.

    I don't think that preserves event responses, so not totally the same thing. Its just a wrapper that uses timers to perform actual waiting.
