I can't expirement in WC3 to answer the following question because my Warcraft is f---ed at the moment:

Could the native GetUnitLevel return the value of a hero's level
as well as a units level?
(Sorry for my noob question)

It's just a unit's level, not hero's. That one is GetHeroLevel().

Pharaoh you are not right. It returns the units level if it is an unit and returns hero level if it is a hero.
