Vertex coloring

How do you use vertex coloring in 3dsmax?
I want to color a single geoset and make it more yellow.

EDIT: Also, i would like to know how to hide objects in animation, so that they only show in certain frames and so on.

you must set it in the material of the mesh. Edit the selef illumination color and you are done. [your thread won't be visible to non moderators, but in 3 days.]

And for hiding geosets, do i just set the material alpha to animated/0?
I know that would work, but then i need an extra material for the part that ought to dissapear.
