I'm not sure because I never used this script for vertex animation. I find Reactor engine from 3Ds max a better solution for vertex animation. But it has a more complex procedure then VA tools.
VA tools had many bugs that I could not go over with.

reactor writes keys on every single frame ;C
I find that annoying since it takes a lot of filesize for animations

you know the idea is to make the animation in reactor then use the VA tools to bake them.

Anyways, if you are exporting through NeoDex, you can use NeoDex's VA tools they are more accurate, take less time and waste less in keys.

thanks! :) but I have had enough pain with neodex long ago xD you must know, sice I pmed you long ago to fix it, butI couldnt fix it u_u!

Im going to try it anyways ;)

oh neodex is a pain if you don't do things exactly as the manual says, but once you do, it's all dandy. I stopped using art tools once it became stable enough for me to model. Sadly, I made the project a bit personal so it works a lot on how I do things.
