UV mapping

I dont really remember much from vertex modify, but it kinda only supports uv mapping from one angle at once. You open the model, then you go tools>UVmapping.
A window will open. There, click "load image" and select a bmp version of your texture.
Then there's actually not much left to it, select your vertices, then go to the drop-down box and choose wich direction you wish to map from, the press "remap"
Move the vertices to where you want them.

Well, it's tricky, but if you try to do it part by part, and then import it as geosets, then you can get a better map, plus map it from different irections (still only one per geoset though). Just make many different models just as if they would have been models of their own, then add them together using that add geoset option.
But having many geosets is also a bad thing. So try keep it below 10 at least.

you can map it from other directions per geoset, with vertex mod
if you select a group of verticies, in vertex mod, before going to uv mapping, it will automatically select only those verticies, and then you can choose their specific angles..
i dont know how to cut off verticies though, where 1 piece of a geoset has 1 map, and another piece has another, so the texture may drag across the image in some small points XD

for this you will have to select the vertices you want to map and after that you will have to select: inverse. after that you will select delete. you will only have the selected vertices now.
Select saved geoset and save it as 1modelname.mdl or something similar, but do NOT overwrite your model as you will loose ALL of your current progress.
After that you will open modelname.mdl and delete the vertices you just saved as a new geoset, but do NOT delete the outer circle of it, because your model would have a hole then.
After that you just select merge geoset and choose 1modelname.mdl

Now you will be able to map it without screwing it.
