US East seems to be down/getting attacked

I heard several reports from various sources of either an attack or some type of lolz move from Blizzard. I am going for the first idea, anyone have any news on this? This is for easties like me who want more information on the subject.

Yeah, Ive been hearing alot about servers being down, mainly useast, but I think its been a problem for a long time. Im not really competent in these matters because my connection to bnet is really bad, no matter the server.
