Hello. I am making a TD where there will be up to 10 players. (please refer to the attached image)
There will be 4 paths, 2 players for each side and 2 players for defending the middle. All players receive gold from any kills so there will be no kill-stealing. Players defend a Castle in the middle. Enemies will have attacks to damage the Castle - players lose if the Castle dies. Higher game levels will have higher damage and tougher enemies. Over time, the Castle recovers HP.
Towers: Players will be able to choose from a varying list of races. Each player will have only 2 real towers: Attack Tower (built in white area of image) and Defend Tower (built in green area of image). After those two are built, players can build booster/upgrade towers (built in white area of image). These will not be able to attack. Instead, they enable/increase abilities for the Attack Tower of the player. Such as the Basher Tower, will give the Attack Tower an independent attack (independent attack cooldown, damage, etc.) which has a chance to stun enemies; additional Basher Towers will increase the chance to stun enemies. The upgrade towers are used to maze, giving the Attack Towers extra time to kill enemies.
How Enemies Spawn: Enemies spawn from the brown areas of the image and move toward the middle and attack the Castle. There will be a timer where enemies spawn after every 30 seconds, enemies spawning one by one. So after 8 seconds, a total of 8 level 1 units spawn and 22 seconds later, level 2 will begin, not after all level 1 units have died. Each enemy spawn area will spawn units with armor types strong against the player's race chosen. This will cause players to work with their partner more and decide who will get what race.
Races Each race will have different types of booster towers they can create. Such as, the Fire race will be able to get the burn ability, causing DPS to enemies while the Ice race will be able to get the freeze ability, temporarily stopping enemies.
Non-stacking effects Another thing about abilities is that most ability effects will not be able to stack. Such as, the Bash ability will not be able to stun units that are already Frozen or already stunned. Some abilities however, such as very low DPS will be able to increase the DPS taken for each attack.
Defender Towers: Defender towers are last-resort towers to defend the Castle. If creeps get out of range from the Attack Towers, the Defender towers are able to kill enemies. Defender Towers usually won't gain bonuses from booster towers, but can be upgraded into stronger towers.
