Fix your categories and stop abusing the system. Greedy attention-seekers like you are the reason people can't use categories to search for models.

As for the model, it's basically a recolor of your other one, but it looks good. 3/5.

I'm all for fixing the system, but honestly, it's a sparkly magicky SFX. Which of those categories does this not fit for? That's kind of the point.

Maybe High Elf might not make sense, as well as Gnolls.

It's an SFX. Out of:

Night Elf, Human, Naga, Nerubian, High Elf, Blood Elf, World of Warcraft, Miscellanous / Other, Creep, Cartoon, Anime, Troll, Murlocs\Mur'gul, Draenei, Gnolls

Night Elf, Human, Naga, Nerubian, High Elf, Blood Elf, World of Warcraft, Creep, Troll, Murlocs\Mur'gul, Draenei, Gnolls

Do not belong. It is not a unit or structure or anything relating to any of those races, and it is certainly not from World of Warcraft.

It belongs in the following categories:

Miscellanous / Other, Cartoon, Anime

Just stop and think for a moment about why somebody would search a race (Such as Human, Naga, Night Elf, etc) in the category section. They would be looking for buildings, heroes, and units. They would not be looking for a twilight sparkle effect, because it is not a human, naga, or night elf. The category system isn't there for you to put it in as many as you can to force everyone who does a model search to see your model. It's there for you to put your resource in as few as possible so that people who are ACTUALLY looking for your model will find it, so that people can use the categories to narrow down their searches to what they're actually looking for.

I disagree. I feel as though purple sparkley SFX could go quite well into several races (probably excluding High Elves/Gnolls, as I stated above).

You should not presume to know what people are looking for. When I type in "trolls", I am indeed hoping to find trollish buildings, trollish heroes, trollish units... And trollish SFX. Really anything that could reasonably be found or considered to be "Trollish". I'd be fine, glad even, to see this come up under "Trolls"; it looks like something a Troll would cast.

I agree that "category-whoring" is a shameful, ungainly activity, but I don't think this is the same thing.

//EDIT// - OK, so why not just make an "SFX" category? Doesn't seem like there is one...

//EDIT2// - Alright, hold on... What is even up with this site... So we have "keywords" and "categories" and "type". Doesn't that seem redundant? And typing "troll" into the Filter/Search bar gets different results than choosing "Troll" as a category (same for using both)... What madness.

So I'm really not even sure what should be done.

Hive 2.0 has merged the categories and types together, so this will work better when we move over to that eventually.

Ah, ok. Well then perhaps that's what we need. I can't really say much until then, I s'pose. In the mean-time, though, I don't think it's a great travesty if a modeler 'goes wide' with their choices of keyword/tag/category, as long as it can feasibly go with the race.
