tweaking devour?

Okay, I'm just feeling a little daring, so I'm trying to find a way to get Devour to target my own Heroes, for the sheer hell of it. I've tried checking everything in "targets allowable", but it's not working. Any ideas?

well, some spells are very stubborn and will not accept certain targets -- EG. shockwave and devour wil not target allies
