This is a little idea I had, and I want to see people's opinions on it.

Fact is, I'd like to see more tutorials here. I also want to see more different kinds of contests. Why not have a tutorial contest? Creating a theme would be hard, but I think it's worth a shot.

Of all categories, I'd like to see either a terrain tutorial theme or a texturing tutorial theme.

Hm, that does sound like a good idea, and we really do need more tutorials. But other than that I don't see how this would work, it's not like people train to be better tutorial makers.

People generally don't get excited about tutorials. They're rather boring work.

Perhaps the reward would motivate people. I'd say we go for it, I mean, it'd still get more submissions than the campaign contest *whistles*.

The weirdest thing though, is that I thought of just his before I went to bed last night, and when I wake up, I see this...

Perhaps a mini-contest would be better. We don't have many of those anymore, I'd like to see more. Have less big contests, and more mini.

Agreed with Gilles. I think for example terraining should fully go over to mini-contests like Void hosted an elven themed one, just that imo there shouldn't be any more big terraining contests. Paired mapping, Cinematic and such should remain, but at the moment, there are usually just to many contests at the same time.
Either way, none should be hosted for about a month or so, I think.

There will still be terrain contests, there will just be less.

Why? Every major terrain contest gets more entries than any other contest type does. And why wait so long to host another one? Again, we have enough activity to get submissions anyways.
