Hey,

I found a really old map that is no longer being developed, that I would like to continue to develop.

However, when I try to open it in World Editor, I get this error:
Code:
This application has encountered a critical error:

Not enough storage is available to process this command.

Program: C/:Program Files (x86)/Warcraft III/World Editor.exe
Object: ObjectChance (.?AUObjectChance@@)

Press OK to terminate the application.

I have also tried some of the other editors that are on this site and experience similar issues.

I have 16GB of memory and over 300GB of storage, so I do not understand how this is an issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I would love to see this map flourish!

Thanks in advance!

Blame the retards who protect their maps.
Understandably really popular maps needs to be protected to prevent spread of cheat maps.

But this is 0.01% of all maps, presumably this is not one of them.
Some people just have very high thoughts of their maps and think they are worth protecting their property like it was worth billions of dollars or something lol

Those maps are protected, which means the user didn't want people editing their map. In most cases, they remove certain editor-only files that prevent WE from opening the map, but still allows wc3 to play them.

There are ways to recover the map, but we don't support discussing deprotection here.
Awesome, that makes perfect sense. I ended up getting it open after 'deprotecting' it but this will most likely be a thing I need to start from scratch on.

Even if you do deprotect it, it'll be a pain to work with, since most the data is still obfuscated.

I'd suggest remaking it from scratch and crediting the original author for the idea.
Yea, I got it deprotected, but, like you said, it is a pain and a half. Guess I'll just start from scratch and give credit where it is due.

I agree, nearly no one is making money with these maps, especially the one I am trying to work on, so it should have stayed open source. Oh well, guess I got some work to do!

Thanks for all the replies!

Finally got a hold of the creator.

He wanted me to pay him $300 for it. lol

The map is Pokemon Arena, in case anyone wants to shell out $300 and work on it.

Thanks again for the help!
