I'm making a defense map and i'm going to put down traps. Does anyone know any good traps like mines or any abilities i could use for them?
If you know of any models (e.g bear traps) i could use please send links.

This can have any theme e.g futuristic/modern, ancient, magic etc

Well, first of all, is there going to be a theme for your map? Will it be modern, futuristic, etc...?

At any rate, since I wasn't sure whether you meant types of abilities the traps used, or what abilities the traps were based off of, here are two answers.

Some ideas you could use are stun traps, slowing traps and traps that put dots on the affected units, which deal damage over time.

Goblin Land Mine and the Stasis Trap are both excellent abilities to base traps off of.

Some buffs, like hp, armor, dmg or mana reducing. YOu can also use a net trap. Seen in Blizzards Azzeroth Grand Prih. Whne players char walks over it, he gets chought.

Mh I think every trap should be based on goblin mine?

You just give it the ability which kills it when a unit is nearby and use a trigger:

Unit dies
Unit type = YourMine
..

My ideas are:

Fire trap: Burns enemies over time
Root trap: Binds enemies to the ground
Spike trap: Heavily damages units
Alarm trap: Blinks the minimap when an enemy comes in range
Quicksand trap: Slows movementspeed
Snake trap: Some snakes appear around the victim and attack it.

Awesome ideas!
I pick him to be on my team.

Another way I used: make a trap with a very small attack and attack range.
Then trigger it so that if it attacks it casts a spell on the attacked unit (like Entangling Roots).

Destroy the trap if needed afterwards.
