Hey folks,

So I guess we are ready for a new tournament in HS! :)
Chaosy came up with bringing some variation into our new one, so here we go.
Chaosy's idea was to make some deck/cards limitation in any creative way.
(or maybe even limitation/new goal in gameplay if we can find a really good one^^)

I'll just start with making an example.

  • Giving all players the opportinity to ban a card for each deck.
Which card will be finaly banned for which deck will be decided though a short poll for example.
  • One of your three decks must contain only normal cards. (no golden, purple, or blue)
You first use use this deck in a match, until it gets defeated.

If we have arrange on a good opportunity we can go with it as extra rule(s).
Any thoughts?

Disclaimer:

Keep in mind that we want more or less noob-friendly rules.
So making a rule that you must use only golden cards would be no good idea. :)

The approach I had in mind was basically to do something like Challangestone which was hosted at Blizzcon last year after its original success.

Here are the special rules used in the first three challangestone tournaments:
1.
Each player could only build decks that consisted of:
  • Minions with odd attack
  • Spells that had an even mana cost
  • All weapons
2.
  • 3 decks of the same class, conquest.
  • No duplicate or multiple cards within the same deck and across all decks.
3.
  • 3 decks of different classes for conquest format
  • Only cards that are capable of targeting other cards or heroes can be included in the decks.

Here are three videos by the mode's creator where he discuses how the rules impacted the game after the tournaments were finished.

I could get behind that.

This looks kind of fun but is written in a complicated way.

I haven't played hearthstone in a while so I'm not familiar with the meta right now. But I like the banning of cards ideas as well as going more pauper (mtg players might know) than the usual decks.

I support this but lay it in a simpler way.
