Realistically speaking, not sure what good would the burrowing do. It doesn't enable a more powerful cannon a la Siege Tank, nor does it seem to convey proper camouflage.

I think this is a bit of a discrepancy between this model and the tiberian sun version as well. The Tick Tank in the game gets significantly taller from "deploying", as it is burrows itself less deep. Giving it some bonuses to shoot over obstacles, ect.
